This hotel could be fantastic, unfortunately it isn't and it offers little for the guest. The only redeeming factor being the staff who do try hard. With coach loads of grumpy travellers this hotel is not one to think of as more than a stop off. The bizarre stuffed animals in cabinets and cringeworthy cabaret are all a bit strange. The food is ok, wine had a good slug of sediment and generally everything is done to a budget. I'd have rather paid more and got better, unfortunately the under investment in this hotel is the biggest problem. Every floorboard creaks like a haunted house and the rooms were last decorated way back. Book here if you have to, not if you want to
Overall a nice stay.
Ups: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The hotel is an older building, which has its charms and also downsides. There is a games room with billiards, darts, fuss ball and more. We felt it was good value for the price.
Downs: The hotel decor is dated (1970ies?).There is wear and tear in places (carpets). Wifi was weak and slow and at times we could hear the people in the next room.

Great location
Three of us had a one nighter here during a motorcycle trip of the highlands.
The hotel is in a beautiful spot. Its a little bit tired and could do with a bit of an upgrade, but the staff were all very friendly and super helpful.
Its a classic bus trip hotel so most of the other clientele were on 2 coaches.
The food is very much geared again for the bus party, so no gourmet dining on the night we were there, it was a set menu.
That said, it would not put me off staying again if I was in the area.
A very good stay, with staff being very friendly. Hotel is situated close to some lovely countryside which I took pleasure in exploring.Entertainment was good during my 2 night stay. Will definitely be back.
cheap and cheerful, well placed and easy to find, friendly staff and good breakfast.

Not much to do in Garve but in scenic area
The hotel is old and tired, good service from staff, hotel and rooms are warm and clean. Food and accommodation are basic but value for money.

convenient location
A bit old fashioned, but very conveniently right on the main road. Staff were friendly and the room, although small, had a lovely comfortable bed with crisp white sheets.
I can not leave a review for this hotel due to the fact that we did not stay there! We booked and paid for the place weeks before but when we arrived we were told that they were full and a room was reserved for us at a hotel about six miles away. Not the news we wanted to hear after several hours drive!! Not sure who was at fault but surely someone could have let us know!
On the plus side we stayed at Mackays Hotel in Strathpeffer and would strongly recommend a visit there. Lovely staff, nice room, delicious breakfast.
We were only stopping in this hotel for one night so the condition of the room did not matter too much. However the rest of the hotel, dining room and lounge areas were very comfortable. We had dinner on the night we arrived and it was very good food and very good value for money. The staff could not have been more helpful and were very well trained. Shame on the owner for not investing in the upgrade of the bedrooms. It was very busy with coach parties from both the UK and Europe. I don't know what they think of the bedrooms but I'm guessing not a lot. From the outside the building is very impressive and was reasonably maintained.
