Check in went smoothly. Once entering the room I was a little surprised to see peeling wallpaper and patch jobs. It was a budget hotel so I accepted it would be a little run down.
The first night people above us were stomping around, slamming doors and running around. We went to the front and asked for them to see about getting the above rooms to be a bit quieter. By the time security went by they had settled down. Thin ceilings and walls. You hear everything!
2am, the light in the room popped on. I went to it and realized the switch had been taped down and the tape had worked its way up. I stuck the tape back on and went to sleep. 4am The tape popped off again and woke me up. This was very frustrating and I went to the front desk in the morning and mentioned it. They said they’d have maintenance come by and take a look. This never happened. I had to get creative and balance a water jug that was full of water to hold the switch down the following night so I could sleep through the night.
The staff at the front desk was polite and friendly however, the responsiveness to our concerns were lacking. The area is pretty sketchy and dingy, I do not believe the rate justified the room or the area.
