Location: Centrally located on Galveston Island, Texas

Pool: This home features an above-ground pool that is 4ft deep with a spacious deck for lounging.

Beach access: Less than a 4 minute drive from multiple west-end beaches.

Rent BeachBox: Looking for beach gear for your Galveston getaway? We have you covered! Beach chairs and tents can be ready at the house upon your arrival. Message us for details and rates.

WIFI: Free high-speed WIFI is available throughout the home.

Cable: We provide Roku with access to Sling TV for live television channels. Guests are welcome to log into their own Amazon Prime, Netflix, or other streaming service apps as well.

Pet policy: Up to 2 pets are welcome in our home with a $25 fee per pet. We ask that pets stay off all furniture, are cleaned up after in the yard, and aren't left alone inside the home unless in a crate or kennel. Please message us if you’re planning on bringing your furry friend!

Parking: There is room for 3 cars in the driveway.

Party Policy: No parties are allowed at our home. Please look elsewhere if that is the intent of your trip.

Step inside The Sugar Shack and discover a welcoming open-concept living area, where the well-equipped kitchen and comfortable dining space create a perfect hub for socializing and mealtimes. This two bedroom, one bathroom home is also full of natural light.

The first bedroom features a luxurious king-sized bed, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep. The second bedroom caters to families or couples with a queen bed and a full-over-full bunk bed – ideal for sleepovers or extra guests. When you are back from the beach and ready to rinse off, this bathroom has everything you need to get freshened up for the next adventure.

Unwind and soak up the island vibes on the private covered back porch. This relaxing space features a BBQ pit perfect for grilling up a feast, alongside a dining table for memorable al fresco meals. For quiet moments of reflection, head to the front porch with its two rocking chairs, where you can sip your morning coffee while enjoying the gentle breeze.

House Rules:
- Guests must be 24+ to book the property.
- One-night stays must be approved.
- Groups larger than 6+ need to be approved. We do not allow parties.
- Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am.
- Any damages to the house or property during your stay will result in a deduction or additional charge for the resulting repair/replacement cost.
- All pets must be approved by our team, stay off of all furniture, be cleaned up after in the yard, and not left alone inside the home unless in a kennel.
- No parking allowed on lawns, yards, empty grass lots or other neighbors’ driveways, even if their home appears unoccupied.
- Oversized vehicles/trailers are not permitted unless explicit approval has been received from our team.
- Do not turn the AC below 70 degrees. If you do, you will risk the AC unit freezing up, requiring it to thaw out which will result in the home getting extremely warm.
- The homeowner's routine pool maintenance cannot be rescheduled and is required for the health and safety of our guests. They will not need to access the home but will access the yard.
- Should an eviction occur due to breaking house rules (noise ordinance violations, excessive guests and/or vehicles beyond the agreed amount), there will be an $850 fine.

A Few Issues…
Overall the property was as listed in the description. The house was a little hard to find as it was off of a dirt road that no longer had a sign with the street name. Once we arrived the mosquitos were horrible. The properties on both sides of ours had grass that was about waist high and we were absolutely swarmed every time we walked outside. Due to this me and my wife were unable to enjoy the pool. Inside the living room AC did not work very well but the bedrooms were cold. In the primary bedroom the ceiling light did not work and we found a small roach in the bed. Also, almost every blind in the house had the stick that rotates to close the blinds snapped off so it was very difficult to close the blinds. I would only recommend this location to others if the above listed issues were fixed.

Family trip
This place was sooooo cozy!! The house is great, really clean whenever we arrived. The pool was so nice too! Some of our FAVORITE parts: - the fact that the house was not off the main boulevard because we had our doggo with us and wanted some type of yard. - there was a beach access road to Jamaica Beach like 6 minutes down the road and we parked our car right on the beach with the whole crew. This trip will forever be a core memory watching our little and dog get to play together on the beach, and the ease of the house, host, and everything literally could not have been more perfect. We would stay here again forsure!!!

Good place to stay with nice pool, but couldn’t enjoy pool because of mesquite swarm , but we stayed right after a flood the week before, so it’s just nature. Would stay again.

Stay at the Sugar Shack
The property itself is absolutely charming. We very much enjoyed the quiet and distance from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We were able to cook our meals there, eat on the patio, enjoy the pool, make s’mores at the fire, see a beautiful sunset, and star gaze. It was a very relaxing few days. Thank you again!

The cottage itself was in fairly good condition and clean, however, the bathroom had the mirror on the floor behind the door, and the door did not close. The beds were very firm, and a challenge for us. People need to know this property is not near the beach unless you drive, as it is a fair distance to walk, and there are narrow roads with no sidewalks. It is also miles from the nearest store for supplies. Given our experience, although not totally bad, we would not return there.

We truly enjoyed having room to enjoy the outdoors with an oversized lot with fire pit area and outdoor dining. The house is quaint and perfect for a couple of small family. Just minutes from the beach makes it a great location as well.
