A beautiful, comfortable, home from home
Such a lovely property. We found it difficult to tear ourselves away from the scenic terrace of this gite. But we did go sightseeing and enjoyed so many historic and interesting places within an hour of home. The owner Sharon lives next door so any issues can be dealt with straight away, although there were none with us. I thoroughly recommend this lovely gite. We'll be back and for longer next time.

Beautiful stay!
We had a lovely stay at the Barn. The house is beautiful and perfectly appointed for all your needs. As it was cold outside, we especially loved the wood burning stove! Beautiful walks and countryside in the area. Sharon is so kind and helpful - she even helped us to find what we needed for our Thanksgiving holiday celebration - not so easy to find all the proper ingredients in France - and lent us some additional cookware from her own kitchen. We also loved the bread delivery in the morning, so fun!! I do not hesitate to recommend a stay here, it’s wonderful. Thank you!

Peaceful Location
We had a fabulous week in The Barn. It was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. It was extremely comfortable and lovely to be able to use the garden for meals and relaxing. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area without travelling too far.

Beautiful setting
A very well appointed holiday cottage in a peacefully quiet setting. It has everything needed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Some really nice little touches added to the property by the owner. Thankfully the beds were great (we suffer with back issues) which was a relief! I would not hesitate to recommend this barn conversion to others.

Fantastic house and exceptional host
My husband, me and my and in-laws stayed at The Barn for a week and had a great time. Sharon is a lovely host. She lives next door and is warm and generous without ever being intrusive. Her cooking is delicious and a great value so definitely take advantage of her offer to provide meals for your group. She also helped us find a wine for we wanted to go on and was very gracious when I broke a dish. The house is well appointed with everything you could need and a lot of nice-to-haves, like a roll of paper towels, Tupperware for refrigerator leftovers, plastic wrap and foil and hotel-size toiletries in each bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the magical duvet was like sleeping under a cloud. The outdoor space is nice, too. We really enjoyed al fresco dining every night. Ned, their cat, is super friendly and it was the highlight of each day when he came by for a cuddle and to say hi. We had a fantastic time and there is nothing bad to say about the visit, the house, the location or our hosts. We had a wonderful time. One tip to naive travelers like us: there is another Frolois near Nancy. Make sure you don’t buy train tickets to the wrong town like we did!!!! (Go to Frôlois, not Frolois!!!)

Great barn in a quiet area
Lovely well equipped converted barn, although the only thing missing for us was a dishwasher. Really comfy beds with nice linen and powerful hot showers. Loved the quiet area but a short drive to get supplies and slightly further to the bigger town of Dijon. Sharon is great host with helpful tips, particularly for our running routes! Was a massive help that she did the shopping prior to our arrival.

Lovely house tucked away in a beautiful valley
We (2 couples) have just come back from a week's stay, in late September, at the Barn. We used the house as a base to cycle in the region, and the house suited us perfectly. Rides were started from the house (a decent amount of climbing, either leaving or returning), or by driving to a start point. For flatter routes the Canal de Bourgogne was ideal, though we did go further to cycle a loop taking in Noyers and another along the Route du Cremant. It's a great way of seeing the area, roads are virtually empty, the views are great and the wildlife is spectacular! On return to the house each day we had 2 bedrooms, both with en suite facilities, a well appointed kitchen with a great washing machine for all that cycling gear, a decent cooker and a nice place to relax both inside and out. Sharon was very helpful and friendly but unobtrusive, though sadly I never got around to doing the run route she suggested even though it sounded great! I hope that your half marathon goes well!

A haven of peace and comfort in beautiful Burgundy
Travelling in a party of 3 friends we had a wonderful stay at the Barn in Frolois. We were blessed with lovely sunshine throughout our stay which allowed us to enjoy the terrace outside overlooking the glorious countryside. At night all we could hear was the hooting of owls and we even saw a shooting star as we enjoyed a late night glass of wine and star gazing. Sharon has created a real home from home for her visitors with ensuite bathrooms, instant hot water and very comfortable beds. The decor is lovely and very relaxing. The kitchen provides everything you could need and the barbecue outside allows for outdoor cooking. Sharon and her family, who live next door, provide welcome support, always helpful but never intrusive. The meal ordering service is amazing, enabling us to enjoy restaurant quality food without needing to worry about driving home! We arrived to a feast of cold meats and cheeses together with salad, homemade dressing and local mustards which had been left in our fridge. Just what was needed after a long journey. The welcome pack was also lovely with wine, mustard and fantastic homemade plum jam!!!! We had neglected to buy milk on our journey so Sharon provided us with some for our morning cuppa! We also enjoyed Sharon's amazing boeuf bourgignon and ordered her Pavlova twice it was so good! What can be better than enjoying a day out and returning to a lovely meal delivered to you? The morning croissants delivered to our windowsill were also a treat and were enjoyed with the plum jam!! Sharon's advice on local places to visit was excellent; beautiful places without needing to travel too far. We visited Flavigny (where I stocked up on my favourite aniseed sweets), Semur-en Auxois, le Chateau de Bussy-Rabutin and the amazing Abbey of Fontenay. We also enjoyed the market at Chablis and had lunch in the mediaeval town of Noyers. I cannot recommend this property too highly. We enjoyed a fabulous holiday and were very reluctant to leave what felt like our 'home' in a beautiful part of France. Thankyou Sharon and family for making us feel so welcome.

Wonderful relaxing place!
We were a family of four staying at 'The Barn''. Oli and Emily aged 9 and 6. It was a lovely relaxing place to stay! It's immaculate throughout. If a younger family was stopping, Sharon has thought of all the small details e.g.. safety catches on fridge, stools for children in the bath room and other handy equipment. Plenty of games and books for them to play with. A big bonus was when the offer of a paddling pool was blown up by Grégoire! Really appreciated! We enjoyed discovering Flagnivy, which we visited a few times. Beautiful village! We went to Abbaye de Fontenay and Dijon, both very interesting. There's a great app for Dijon, that shows you different tours on foot and gives you details at each spot of where you are. We discovered 'The Owl Trail'. The children loved following the brass owl triangles on the floor for the trail! We went to the source of The Seine to discover where the mighty river starts! Which is amazing showing photos of it in Paris to Oli and Em. Nearby Darcy we had a lovely wooded walk and picnic. Went paddling and discovering a cave. The offer of croissants, pain au chocolat and baguettes delivered fresh every morning was a delight! Oli and Em eagerly awaited for the basket on the windowsill! We had freshly baked pizzas baked fresh to order by Sharon when we came back from Dijon, really tasty! Lots of other food was offered. Last but not least, Ned and Noodles!! The lovely kittens that Oli and Emily befriended! Certainly kept them entertained in the garden! They are still mentioned when we came home to the UK! A thoroughly enjoyable stay, so relaxing! Wishing you all the best Sharon and family!

Glorious!
We loved our stay in the charming Barn in Frolois! The property is even better than described--clean, comfortable, bright and accommodating, with lovely views of the countryside and an adjacent, ancient village to explore. We woke to the sounds of birds and farm animals in the morning. Sharon is a wonderful hostess, providing delicious meals and croissants if requested, as well as useful tips for exploring the area. I was especially grateful for the use of her road atlas, as we ventured out to see the Abbaye de Fontenay, Vezelay, Dijon, Beaune and many other small villages. This is a wonderful part of the world, and the Barn is a perfect place to begin exploring! Merci, Sharon!

Meticulously restored ancient Barn
What a lovely comfortable place. Sharon and her husband Grégoire and the 2 girls welcomed we four from New Zealand, with open arms and could not be more genial hosts.Everything we wished for was there and we really enjoyed our stay.Wandering in the quiet lanes, visiting the city or searching for,and swimming in the local waterways, were all enjoyable.Anyone who stays there must try Sharon's delicious cuisine. When we came home late after a long day in the heat we just had to sit back and it arrived...Boeuf bourgignonne was our choice. You have to see their two kittens...Lucy's babies!!! ......also the many small lizards basking in the heat of the stone cottage. They have 2 other properties nearby and I imagine they will be just as good. We wish the family all the very best and would thoroughly recommend their hospitality.

Lovely gite in a lovely location
We had a wonderful stay at The Barn. It has been painstakingly converted into a beautifully-designed, spacious 3-bedroom living area with all the modern amenities you could need. The availability of British satellite TV is quite nice if you want to wind down before bed, and the WiFi works very well both indoors and out in the garden - enough to stream video to a laptop or tablet quite happily, which we plugged into the TV via an HDMI cable. It offers absolutely stunning views of the surrounding fields and valleys in the beautiful Cot d'Or region. Waking up to that, and sitting on the terrace having breakfast whilst taking in these views is quite a treat and an extremely welcome change from the usual busy lifestyle back home in England! At night, there is zero noise and zero light. Perfect for a tranquil night's sleep and a wonderful place for a relaxing retreat in the French countryside. We were blessed with lovely hot weather, and yet the thick walls of the building mean it stays remarkably cool inside. The owners live next door and are extremely helpful. They have a wide knowledge of the area and can always give ideas of things to see and do, as well as help with bookings. There are many beautiful towns, villages, vineyards, and chateaus, and Dijon is always worth a visit for both the historic centre, and the shopping!

Relaxed, peaceful and remote
Clean and comfortable cottage in a remote area. Everything that you need for peace and quiet with history and Vineyards within a few minutes drive. The views are wonderful. Accommodating owners who were helpful but not intrusive. We stayed for a few days rest on way down to Morzine to ski. Would highly recommend and would visit again.

Wonderful!!
We spent Christmas holidays at the barn and absolutely loved it! It is set in a quiet little village which is lovely to walk around and enjoy the local feel but is close enough to many main attractions to easily do little day trips. We have a young daughter and all of the baby equipment was provided right down to the stroller which made packing so much easier. We took full advantage of Sharon's home cooked meals and they were wonderful, especially the local beef bourguignon, yummy home made pizzas and to die for desserts. We also loved the daily fresh out of the oven pastries, still warm, delivered to your windowsill. Sharon and her husband are great hosts, always there to help. There is plenty to do in the area, we particularly enjoyed the inside market in Dijon, the medieval villages of semur en auxois and noyers and the abbey of fontenay is not to be missed. Def plan a visit here, you will not be disappointed!

The Barn
Enjoyed a great week at the Barn. The hosts were so lovely and very helpful, they even arranged a visit to the local vet for our dogs passport. The Welcome goodies were lovely. The Barn is set in a lovely private garden with great views. We were fortunate to have good weather so took advantage of all the local areas and vineyards to visit. Must see sights to see are Abbey de Fontenay, Flavigny sur Ozerain, Noyers and if you love wine a visit to Beaune, Chablis and Nuit St Georges are a must. The Barn is clean and well equipped for all your needs. Very relaxing break.

Beautiful, stunning and delightful gite
The gite was beautiful and well equipped. We stayed with older parents and teenage daughter so really appreciated the ensuite bathrooms which were modern and clean. The outside decking was delightful as we had amazing weather and enjoyed sitting out overlooking stunning views. Sharon was very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed her home cooked meals and croissants. The location is rural and you do need a car, however this is what makes the gite a delight. We visited Flavigny where they filmed Chocolat. Dijon has a lovely Owl trail walk. Sharon provides excellent information on places to visit which we did; Chablis market, Noyers, Fontennay Abbey, Boussy Chateau and not to be missed a visit to our favourite shop Maison du Monde found in the la toison d'Or shopping centre. Thank you Sharon and family for an enjoyable holiday.

Bourgogne Côte-d’Or
