Watch out for ‘deposit’ at the last minute
They took $50 as a ‘deposit’ at the last minute, and are keeping it for 10-15 days. We had no knowledge they would do this. And we had no option. Also the hotel is very outdated.

Safety issue with hotel shuttle
Our hotel room smelled funny - stale carpet smell. Our hotel door had issues: the key card would turn the indicator green but the door stayed locked. It took a few attempts to open it each time. We were only staying the one night so we didn’t bother to report it. Otherwise- our stay was fine and the front desk personal as well at the breakfast buffet attendant were very good. The hotel shuttle from the airport was a very serious safety issue. Henry, the driver piled the suitcases to the ceiling of the van and some of them almost fell on top of my children who were sitting in the back row. There is not metal grate to protect them. My husband had to stand up in the back seat and hold the suitcases in place the whole van so they wouldn’t fall on everyone!!! That can’t be legal. The driver should have piled them up like that. I understand we were the last shuttle of the night but someone could have a head injury if one of those 50lb suitcase falls. Lots of elderly people on that van that night.

When I arrived I requested an early check-in and I was told it was $15 in cash to be placed on a waiting list. I had already paid for my room, so I refused to be extorted for more money. Then I got to sit in a crowded lobby for hours while others were given early rooms. Terrible practice for a hotel.

Hotel was clean but older building. Thin walls. Room was decent with upgraded bathroom. Air conditioner was not good. Good breakfast choices. Pool area was a good size with lots of seating. Cheap cab ride from Cruise Port. Free airport shuttle was excellent. Walk to restaurants is ideal.

This Best Western is a dump of a hotel. as soon as you enter the second floor, off the lift, the moldy smell of dampness, humidity hits you and the room stinks the same way too. Front desk staff are untrained and rude and obnoxious. This must have been a dump that got rebranded Best Western. Will never stay here again. Below the class of a Best Western hotel and expectations.
