Jughandle Coast Vacation Home

This home is conveniently located between Fort Bragg (5 minutes away) and the Village of Mendocino (10 minutes away). Located 1/4 mile from the beach, the home is also close to state parks (Jug Handle, Russian Gulch, Redwood Forest, Van Damm and McKerricher) which are especially great for hiking, biking and beach access.

The home is very private, set on two wooded acres. A grassy yard opens into a meadow surrounded by redwoods, pine and fir. The house features cathedral ceilings and warm wood floors throughout, a completely equipped kitchen, cable TV/VCR, CD player, telephone, toasty wood-stove with a glass window for dinners in firelight, and a large back&side deck with outdoor dining and a barbecue for grilling.

This Mendocino house has a king, a queen, and two trundle beds (each of these beds can sleep two singles or make into queen size beds). All firewood, linens, kitchen supplies, and bedding are provided for your convenience as well as a washer and dryer. Portable crib is available.

The house and deck are wheel chair accessible but the bathroom is not large enough to accommodate a standard wheel chair.

Location Location Location
We loved this property because of its location. Close to everything we love about the Mendocino Coast: Restaurants and shopping in Fort Bragg, Noyo Headlands and Harbor, Mendo Botanical Gardens, Jughandle Reserve, Pt Cabrillo Light, and the village of Mendocino itself. That said, the home was very comfortable both indoors and out, would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you Matt and Cathy!

Nice place but I went even mention the pond area ..not accessible. Couldn't sleep in past 6am..the blinds weren't able to be drawn no coverings for top windows and 2 of 3 windows wdnt open latches are broken. The front walkway is covered in sticky weeds kept sticking to my shoe laces and socks ..the back deck has sticky leaves. The tub spout came apart 1st day when trying to shower...contacted owner ..no response back entire trip ..we were able to put it back together ..some coffee would of been nice. But overall was okay place nothing special about it tho Checkoutlist appears they want you to do the cleaning for next person to arrive not sure why the service fee was included we didn't get any .

What a gem
The hosts were lovely and easy to reach. We had to reschedule within 24 hours due to COVID. Cathy, couldn't have been more helpful and responsive. The house was clean, cute, and very comfortable. Our kids loved walking around the property and found a swing. I would highly recommend to anyone with a family looking for a sweet place to stay.

We escaped the holiday frenzy for a peaceful retreat amongst the leafy greenery. The large garden and plentiful trees made for a secluded, restful trip, with the sound of frogs in the pond to serenade us at night. The house suited our needs well and we enjoyed staying there.

We enjoyed our stay at the house. It is very clean, quiet, has everything you need, and the location is perfect--- between Fort Bragg and Mendocino, a block off Highway 1.(But traffic noise is not an issue). Plenty of privacy; no other houses in sight from the house. It was not cold enough for us to fire up the wood stove, but there was plenty of wood and it would be so cozy on a rainy winter evening! The central heating worked great to take the chill off. The kitchen is more than amply supplied with what we needed to prepare several meals. We would definitely stay here again.
