Airports in Morocco

Morocco receives millions of visitors every year so has plenty of airports to accommodate them all. The main entry point for international travellers is Mohammed V International Airport, located 31km south of the city of Casablanca on the A7 highway. Another popular arrival point is Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport, situated 14km to the west of Tangier city centre.

Transportation from the Airports

Casablanca is a well-connected city, so getting around shouldn’t be a problem. From the airport, you can take the train which costs between 35 and 50 dirham (MAD) and takes about half an hour. The coach company CTM operates a service which runs between the city centre and the airport with a journey time of about an hour. You will need to ask fare prices when you get there. From Tangier Airport, you have the option of a taxi or car hire. The journey takes about 20 minutes, and taxi fares are around 386MAD. Car rental is available from both airports.

Weather in Morocco

The Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert mean that Morocco’s climate is variable depending on location. Casablanca, on the north-west coast of the country, has a relatively mild climate, and temperatures in the height of summer reach around 27˚C. Tangiers, which is further north, has similar weather patterns, but is wetter owing to its location on the coast. If you are travelling in winter, the best places to visit are in the south of the country, such as Agadir, where temperatures remain around 20˚C in December and January perfect for some winter sun.
