The RIU palace property is beautiful, the area inside the property is clean and maintained.
I was a little upset because I contacted the property 1 month in advance regarding king size beds. I had a party of 6 adults (couples), I only got One king bed the rest were double beds.
We arrived early and check in isn’t until 3. They checked in our bags and let us have use of their facilities. You must reserve the restaurants. You can’t reserve until you get your room numbers. Even though all the rooms were booked under one name each room had to book for themselves. Meaning one person can’t book for he whole party. Each room has to reserve for themselves. And in our case since we didn’t have our rooms yet it proved difficult to make reservations for our arrival day. The buffet diner has delicious food. It doesn’t require reservations.
There are 3 pools, they do have entertainment.
The beach area is clean; however wear swim shoes there are lots of rocks where you are allowed to swim. The area that you are allowed to swim is limited. The beach chairs and umbrellas are already set up for use.
Transportation to and from the hotel. The hotel uses different transportation people. Ours was destination tours. You are sent forms from the hotel. They are very particular about the time frame. Needless to say if don’t book directly through RIU they use other transportation. Our transportation was Destination tours. Needless to say the transportation was a nightmare from arrival to return.
