Pretty Typical mountain house in Faido (BAITA DAL GAT)

To unwind, just immerse yourself in the wonder of mountain landscapes, staying in a place that seems straight out of fairy tales: the BAITA DAL GAT! 
This lovely typical Leventina mountain house welcomes you with the warmth of wood, the main element of the whole house, and with many small details that will make you feel at home! Crossing the threshold on the first floor there is a modern custom-made kitchen on the left, with induction hob, oven and dishwasher and everything needed to prepare and serve meals, and in addition a typical wood-fired stove with a cooker. On the right, a large table with bench and chairs is ready to welcome the whole family or a group of friends for a dinner with friends!
Going up the ladder, you reach the attic room, where on the left there is a double bed and on the right a relaxation area with satellite TV and sofa, which transforms into a double bed for the night (Please note: The sofa bed will not be prepared as a bed for your arrival, as we deem it proper to use it as a sofa during the day. You will find the bed linen, pillows and blankets in the wardrobe/shelf closest to the sofa.). To divide the two rooms there is a small bathroom with toilet and sink.
Going down to the street level there is a bathroom with shower and a laundry room with washing machine and drying racks.
Here you can also store your sports equipment (bicycles, skis). The house is completed by a 7 sqm balcony and a 30 sqm garden.

Quality bedding, towels and a courtesy kit are provided. 
We also leave a gift basket with some necessary items for your first breakfast.

Sobrio is in a picturesque mountain village, from which numerous hiking trails depart for walking and mountain biking in the summer and for skiing, snowmobiles and snowshoes in the winter. You will find hiking maps in the house. Sober is also an intermediate stage where you can stop along the famous Strada Alta della Leventina (45 km), a trek that starts from Airolo and arrives in Biasca. Sobrio is just 25 minutes from the Carì ski slopes.

Faido, reachable in 20 minutes by car from the BAITA DAL GAT, is a small village nestled in the green mountains of Leventina. Stroll among the small churches, log cabin houses and Art Nouveau villas, which recall the glorious past as a holiday resort in the early 1900s! In Faido there are 3 supermarkets, a famous bakery that produces typical products, 2 pharmacies, a butcher's shop and a dairy shop selling local products.
Among the most visited naturalistic landscapes in the area there are the wonderful Piumogna waterfalls, very popular with tourists in summer. For mountain lovers, there are many trekking routes on the peaks of Pizzo Pettine, Pizzo Molare, Pizzo Forno and Carì, famous for its ski area which is very popular during the winter.

How to arrive: 
From the A2 motorway, reach the Faido-Carì exit, towards Lavorgo. Follow for Sobrio, Nucleo Ronzano. Enter the following coordinates on the GPS to reach the apartment: 46.4026484; 8.89699088 
If you are by train, go to Lavorgo station (train towards Erstfeld) and from there take bus no. 124 direction "Sobrio, Paese" for 8 stops to the stop “Sobrio, Ronzano”. In 6 minutes on foot you will reach the apartment.
