Shiny on the outside but...

...on the inside the room was old if not antique if you catch the meaning. Floor not even. Cubboard on the brink of tumbling because of the uneven floor. Mould on the inside of the window frame. Very old carpet. All in all highly overpriced. But the location and the view are stunning.

Excellent rural location, but dated

Lovely location with fantastic views. However, the rooms felt tired and old fashioned. Perfectly fine as a crash pad, but wouldn't say it was a room we really wanted to spend any time in.

Great find for stopover

We were travelling down to Devon and wanted a stop over for the night and this is a little gem. Great welcome, lovely large room and bathroom and at great value. Good dinner and breakfast, only fault was the bath wouldn't drain, but when reported the staff seemed concerned. Will be back!

Beautiful Quiet Location

Great view from the hotel over the rolling south Devon hills This converted manor house has the facilities of a good hotel while retaining a stately flavour. Top notch service from the staff who were with almost no exception friendly and helpful (there's always one!). Breakfast good value for a top class cooked offering. No major downs but noted no lift to rooms no cocktail offering and room TV's at break-neck height!

Excellent overnight stop

The best part of this hotel is the setting. Stunning views and very peaceful. Rooms were very good, as was the restaurant. Staff generally good apart from one of the receptionists who wasn't very friendly. I would certainly return here.

königlich logieren

wenn man einmal wie ein könig bedient und umsorgt werden will ist man hier richtig! sehr gepflegt, gutes essen, schnelles wifi - allein die anfahrt über enge "feldwege" ist gewöhnungsbedüfrtig. wer ruhe sucht ist hier richtig - partygänger / stadtfresks werden hier allerdings nicht glücklich
