The mountainous view from the chalet decks just can’t be beat! My only complaint is where they chose to park RVs for summertime help. none the less, it’s easy to tune out the rigs if you stay in an upper chalet. Fully equipped. Our unit also had a heated bathroom floor which was a bonus. Self check in work well and the on-site manager was additionally very helpful. Suite was within an Older building with a slight stale smell that dissipated once the room was aired out. Better stale air than masking odors! It was a Long walk for carrying stuff. but very low summer occupancy meant the quiet at night was heavenly. Easy access to the North side of Mt Rainier trails! I will stay again. Viewing deck with western sunshine was so awesome.
Great location and the restaurants around property has great food. 5 minutes walk to crystal mountain trails and gondolas. It’s great value for location. The chalets do share very thin wall so you can hear your neighbors but quite hours are 10pm to 8am. Chad and Alice are great hosts!

Very dusty and it was a little difficult to climb all the stairs when bringing in luggage or groceries.
Loved the view, loved the layout of the condo

The place was clean and well equipped but too many steps.
Had no idea there are no elevators until last minute. They don’t have all the pertinent information posted clearly. The bathroom toilet had urine stains. The bathtub was dirty. The refrigerator was dirty. Seems like they make the renters clean up before they leave and then do bare minimum cleaning for the next client. Was NOT worth the price. They give you ONE towel per person and you hav to test a number and ask if you need another. Hauling luggage back and forth was AWFUL. Maybe this is okay for super fit, young and active hikers and campers. I wouldn’t stay here again because of the cleanliness and lack of statue case. If they can put an elevator and clean the place better, I would pay to stay there again. Otherwise, definite no. They just be banking, charging what they do and having the facility setup and maintained the way they do.

Very dissatisfied with this property. The property description stated you must be able to climb stairs. It didn't state that you needed to climb 5 flights of steep metal stairs before you got to the actual property itself. Depending on what floor you are on, you will have to climb another 1-2 flights of stairs after that. There is no ramp or elevator so you must carry everything up the stairs.
I also do not recommend renting this property in warm weather. When we stayed the temperature was 85 degrees outside. When we checked in, the temperature inside the unit was at least 90 degrees & didn't decrease much. The metal blinds on the windows facing west didn't have any sort of black out feature. The door leading to the balcony was class without any type of shade. This turned the unit into an oven. There was a tiny 6 inch fan by one side of the bed and that was it.
The inside of the property was very clean and had everything you would need for your stay. However, between the heat & the stairs, we were so uncomfortable we checked out a day early.
The unit was very nice with a great view of the mountains. It is in 1980s style, well maintained. It is a workout to get to it though, we counted 121 steps! You can ask for assistance in getting your stuff up those steps.
Not a bad option if you want to ski at crystal. There is parking in front of the chalet (you can get there by driving right up to bus drop off point near the ticket station at the front of lot A and then taking a little road to the left up the hill past some other chalets).
As others have said the walls are a bit thin so you'll hear your neighbors if they're loud. Wasn't much of an issue for us. The stairs up from the carpark are quite something, maybe equivalent to 6 flights, so you'll get a workout. We didn't find a way to ski-in or ski-out so we had to walk to the ski area which again is a fair walk, but it is mostly flat.
The unit itself was nicely appointed, nice kitchen/living room and a bedroom that slept 4. Balcony that looks down towards the carpark is also nice.
Dining options seemed limited. We cooked dinner each night in the room with food we brought from home which worked out ok, but we were only there 3 nights.
Overall given the price I think next time we'd just go to Whistler. Longer drive, but bigger mountain, more shopping and dining options, less stairs and walking.
We like the location, it’s a walking distance to the gondola rides and the view is beautiful! We didn’t like the fact that you will hear loud footsteps of the other guests who are preparing to leave the unit early in the morning like around 5am. I think they’re going for an early hike but it literally woke us up two mornings in a row. We stayed for 2 nights. And they went up and down back and forth several times, without thinking of the other guests who are still sleeping. My kids told me that they got awakened by the loud footsteps and loud voices. So if you’re not an early riser and not a hiker I would not recommend you to stay here but if you don’t mind hearing noises this would be a good place to stay. The unit is complete with almost everything, I said almost because they don’t have built in USB or even a portable one. It just so happens that my husband forgot to bring his own. Luckily I brought mine but I think it will be nice if they have at least one USB port. Now a days it’s part of everything. All in all we like the unit we stayed in but again for someone who likes to have a quiet place to sleep until 7am this won’t be an ideal place. But if your a hiker and early riser this is a good place for you.

Convenient Location, Beautiful Views, Worn Property
My wife and I stayed at Crystal Chalets for 3 nights beginning Monday, March 29th, 2021
Amazing -
The view from the balcony was exceptional. It is an easy and generally flat walk to the base. The skiing at Crystal is wonderful.
OK
Room itself was clean and comfortable. Space is at a premium. Great for a couple. It would have been tight if a family of 4 was going to stay. The condo is showing signs of vigorous use with minor damage to the inside right door threshold and other signs of wear and tear. Appliances and heat all worked great. Serviceable is a good word for the unit we stayed in.
Could have used attention -
The directions to the parking were not as clear as they could have been. They would have worked great in summer. Not so much when traffic is more restricted by snow berms and the need for one way traffic. We resorted to google maps over a beer after skiing to figure out how to navigate to the property for our stay.
The parking would have been more than adequate if it had been maintained. We found one of the few plowed spots so good news for us.
We ditched the rubber safety mat in the tub. It had black spots on it of undetermined origin.
Beware of -
It is a long hike up to the property from the parking lot. They clearly warn you about the task ahead and they were not kidding.
Property is a primer in supply and demand. Limited housing stock allows for premium pricing of an "OK" product.
Nice and close to the mountain. you can actually ski bacl to the unit from the mountain, but have to walk over to the base area to start your day. Unit is small but nicely refurnished. Good for two adults, would be crowded for a family of 4 even though there are two small bunk beds. The walk from the parking lot up to the third level of the condo units is quite a hike bringing up all the gear and food on the first day. Not for elderly or out of shape folks! the refrigerator did not function in our unit and we were unable to fix it. the onsite manager was as helpful as he could be, but that was disappointing.
Pay attention to the specific class of condo you are booking. We rented “Bare Bones,” which was aptly named! Unit was tired and worn but met our basic needs for 2 nights. Good location if skiing Crystal. LOTS of steps from parking lot. (We counted a total of 109 stair steps from car to our unit...no elevator.) Not many lodging choices if you want to stay at or near the ski resort. Kitchen in the unit comes in handy as there are only 1-2 (?) restaurants on the mountain that are open after the lifts stop and they have limited hours in the evening. Make sure to load up on groceries on your way!!
Convenient location, short walk to ski lodge. Excellent service and responsiveness by the on site managers. Clean condo, well stocked with dishes, pans, etc. Nice mountain views off the deck.
