The town is part of the Pennsylvania Wilds region, and visitors from all over come to witness these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. If you’re an animal lover or wildlife enthusiast, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to visit nearby viewing areas, such as the Winslow Hill Elk Viewing Area or the Elk Country Visitor Center, just a short drive away.

Fall is an especially magical time to visit, as the elk’s mating season, known as the "rut," brings about the thrilling sounds of elk bugling. Imagine hearing these majestic creatures as you take in the crisp autumn air and colorful foliage—a truly unforgettable experience!

A Stargazer’s Paradise – Dark Skies for Perfect Nighttime Viewing

On clear nights, you can expect to see an array of stars, planets, and even the Milky Way, stretching across the sky in stunning clarity.

Nearby Cameron County's Dark Sky viewing area and Cherry Springs State Park are the best stargazing spots on the East Coast, offering public viewing areas and guided stargazing programs throughout the year. Bring along your telescope or simply lie back and enjoy the beauty of the universe with your naked eye.

Spacious apartment, safe neighborhood and in middle of what the town has to offer. Bonus that the cafe directly below the apartment is affordable and makes delicious food!

Can't be beat.
The apartment was everything we thought it would be. Cleanliness was excellent. Completely cozy. It was wonderfully stocked with all the basics and just in case things. Loved the fact they had coffee and all the fixings. We are early risers and most places don't open till between 6 and 8 and coffee is required. The Aroma Cafe downstairs was nice opens at 7 weekdays, 8 on weekends, coffee was good we had breakfast there twice and it was quite tasty.

Pleasant stay
Great young couple who rent out; they own the cafe downstairs which was really convenient (and the best food of all the places I tried - you should avoid the Chinese across the street). My only complaint is the unit is very, very dark. I suggested they add several more lamps to give folks more options on lighting. Otherwise, it was fine. I should add there is a lot of truck traffic, but I stayed in the back bedroom.
