Fantastic Hotel in Edinburgh
We loved our stay at the Virgin Hotel in Edinburgh. The staff was very friendly and super helpful with recommendations. It was a pleasant change coming from London. Our room was comfortable and enough had space for our two night stay. I liked the way the bathroom was arranged and it wasn’t awkward that you walked through it to get to the bedroom. The location is absolutely perfect for seeing the sights of Old Edinburgh. Everything is walkable. We even walked from the train station although if we knew it was all uphill we may not have attempted it because it is exhausting pulling a suitcase. Unfortunately our visit was short so we didn’t utilize the restaurant or bar on site but the bar looked fun and there were other areas that were perfect for hanging out. There is also a surprising decent gym which I didn’t expect. Can’t recommend this hotel enough. I’m a lifetime titanium member at Marriott but this made me want to check out other Virgin hotels and we’ll definitely return to this hotel next trip to Edinburgh.

My wife had a great stay at Virgin. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. We had a great dinner at the Commons Club. The staff were friendly and helpful. Then we left and took the train to London only to realize we had left our passports behind at the hotel. The staff went above and beyond to assist us in getting them back to us in time to make our flight the next morning. We can’t thank them enough for helping us out of this major jam.

Our room was lovely but the toilet seat moved sideways when you sat on it! I'm in the holiday business myself and this gets pointed out to us. You only know if you use it. The service while excellent when it happened was extremely slow. 20 minutes waiting for tea/coffee at breakfast. An hour in the restaurant waiting for our meal.

I was upgraded but only once I paid extra I am always disappointed when it comes to that. My status with Expedia gives me the upgrade, but it’s always uncomfortable to ask when I check in. This is something that Expedia should take care of and not make make us ask at check in. The front desk people make it uncomfortable for me when I ask.

Great properly overall....nice staff... nice rooms but missing coffee maker in room which was a bit of a disappointment and one day our room wasn't cleaned even tho it had been empty for hours... after a long day was disappointing to have to wait for it to be serviced.... not great for a 5☆ hotel.... but that was the only thing that was not great....

Gorgeous hotel with a perfect atmosphere. It is in a great location that is centrally located to the royal mile. We received excellent service at the hotel during our stay. We would stay there again for sure.

Fabulous hotel in a great location. Our room had a dressing room with separate rooms for toilet and shower and the most closet space I have ever seen in a hotel room! Wonderful breakfast that is worth the additional cost as it keeps you off the busy streets of the Royal Mile until later in the morning and includes a buffet and or menu items. Highly recommend.
