Not great. Room dusty, water only replaced once in room. Breakfast huge queue, not enough staff. No glasses for juice had to use paper cups. Breakfast not Huge choice and ran out of stuff. Went to use pool one morning, closed for an aqua ckaaa but no information in rooms telling us this. Family room walls thin as could hear every conversation in tbe nezt room

This hotel was outstanding it exceeded my expectations. I cannot complement the staff enough they fixed my reservation when we showed up a day early and were truly exceptional. The manager was great, the desk staff, your restaurant staff and the bartenders even took the time to answer my questions about different whisky and I even learned how whisky that is made in Scotland is spelled differently then whiskey made in other places. I cannot say enough or complement the staff enough for making our first two days in Scotland so wonderful.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, but the layout is not very guest friendly! Where bits have been added on, it has made the hotel like a rabbit warren, with lots of corridors, lifts, corners to go through until you come across your room. Having 3 floors with numbers all starting with 1 is v confusing!!! The breakfast was v nice, we all had a really delicious omelette made to order-yum! We used the pool facilities and whilst we only had a quick dip because there was a class going on which meant we had to get out, our 2nd visit was much longer and we were able to enjoy the pool fully, along with the sauna. The staff were friendly. Pia

Welcoming staff at the door & on the desk. Pool facilities were great. One of our beds in our family room very uncomfy, no mini bar & iron was leaking water on our clothes so had to use hair dryer to dry them. Some of tv channels not working. Golf course very good.

Historic building with a lot of charm. Wel groomed grounds and nice restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Only negative was that our room was two floors up with no lift/elevator and one person in our party used a cane to walk.

Overall a good stay
Arrived late after a flight and was warmly welcomed. Good directions to room, which was well maintained, spacious and comfortable. Scottish soap company sea kelp toiletries and fluffy towels supplied in bathroom. Overall cleanliness very good. The only disappointments were a shortage of teabags ( quickly rectified by housekeeping) and an inability to get through promptly to the room service team. Once sorted out by reception the meal arrived in a reasonable timescale (though with only one set of cutlery for 2 meals) and was tasty. Breakfast in the Pentland the following day was busy but we were served tea promptly and the breakfast buffet was well stocked with a good variety of items. We would book to stay again and hopefully be able to use the restaurant next time.
