Graduation week!
Had to clean before moving in: swept and mopped floor, vacuumed porch but didn't attempt to clean off car porch! Other than that we had a great time! Graduation week was fabulous! Fishing, laughter, eating, rocking my great- grands! What a blessing!

Great week at the cabin!
Loved the location, privacy, and quiet surroundings. Everything was great, and the water was just like any other Sulphur water. It has a smell, but it works! Plus, there was a full bottle of water in the water cooler when we arrived. We enjoyed sitting down by the water and watching the ducks float by. We communicated both with Evolve, and with the local contact, and everyone was helpful and quick to reply. Would not hesitate to stay again!

Tranquility on Craigs Creek
Lovely setting to have a small family gathering. There was a gate on the deck which was great protection for our 1.5 year old grandson. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was great. We did a lot of cooking. There are plenty of pots and pans, but lacked bowls and pyrex dishes for baking and/or serving dish. Luckily I brought along my one large bowl for baking my PA Dutch potato filling. We all visited and hiked @ Roaring Run National Park. Great visit.

On the river
Great location - right on the river with easy access if you want to swim or put in a canoe. Great yard for dogs. House has a wonderful screened porch that looks out over the river, perfect for sitting out and relaxing with your morning coffee or a good book. Be prepared to climb some steps to get up into the house.

Picturesque setting!
This cabin is in a heavenly setting!! You’re surrounded by mountains, trees, and a creek; all visible throughout the cabin. There is a well equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture, and kayaks to enjoy as well (just not in winter, lol). The porch swing was delightful to sit and listen to the creek that is only steps from the cabin. I can’t wait to come back in nicer weather. It is truly an escape from life!

Great location
Cabin is very clean and comfortable. Located in the middle of all things the area has to offer. My family fished the James River several days and couldnt ask for a better location. Great property. Only issue was as others have stated is the water smells really bad. You get used to it but it is strong.

Just as it was listed.
Creek access was great. My son was able to land more than a dozen fish over 2 evenings. The yard was large and inviting for outdoor activities. As other reviews have stated the water has a terrible smell. Seems like the only thing that could make the property much nicer would be to remedy this smell. I would stay again. The owners did provide a water cooler with water for drinking and cooking. Be sure to take any groceries as the nearest grocery store is Quite a drive. The Kroger in Clifton Forge is the closest thing to a full grocery store.

cottage on creek
Water was so strong with sulfur smell, you couldn't brush your teeth, take a bath, or cook with it. When arriving, grass wasn't mowed, cobwebs all over outside. Inside, smelled like dog!, floors were sticky and had dog hair. Fry pans had to be washed before using. Bedding in closet smelled like dog. One bedroom had bugs coming in from window and dog hair on the bed. There were 2 t.v.s but only 1 worked. Not enough lighting to navigate outside steps. No easy access to creek. Stores are half hour away.

We loved our stay at the cabin on Craig creek. It was just what we needed for our quiet family getaway. We spent HOURS in the creek, it was perfect for our kids (ages 5, 6, and 8). There was alot of hiking nearby which was a plus. We would definitely come back.

We all had a great and relaxing time. The kids loved fishing, the kayaks and playing in the creek. I even went down the creek on the kayaks with my son. Took us 4 hours but so much fun. We also went to the 4th of July celebration in Buchannon.

Beautiful river view, but terrible mice problem
Property has beautiful views with access to the creek. However, the house has a terrible rodent problem and while we stored all of our food in the fridge, we woke up to counter tops and table tops covered in mouse droppings. There was no disinfecting spray in the house that we could find so I had to scrub everything every morning with hot water and soap. It was a real bummer. The outdoor furniture could definitely use updating and there were no chairs to use by the fire pit. The oven door is broke and swings out rapidly which can cause a burn (found that out the hard way.) The kayaks were awesome. The beds were comfy. This place could be awesome, but the mice were unacceptable.

Great little getaway
We very much enjoyed our stay at the creek. The screened in porch overlooking the creek was one of our favorites. We also loved the roaring run hike. It was perfect for our kids (2 and 6). The Blue Ridge vineyard was great too. We struggled a little bit with getting food nearby since the only dinner was closed for Easter and we didn't feel like cooking, but there were good sandwiches close by.

Craig Creek Get Away
We booked a week long stay at the Craig Creek Cabin and couldn't have been happier with the accommodations, location and communication with the host. The house was exactly as advertised, maybe even undersold a bit. We spent time on the screened in porch watching otters and mink hunt on the banks, my kids caught multiple trout and bass right from the property and my wife loved the short distance to multiple hiking and biking trails. Theresa, the host, was great at getting back to us with a several questions we had about the surrounding area. We look forward to booking another trip here.

Great place and awesome location
The house and property is clean, family and pet friendly. We loved the outdoor firepit and the sound of the creek. The location is perfect for many endless hiking trailheads including the nearby Roaring Run, Hoop Hole Loop and Sharp Top Mountain trail. The only downside is the well water smell. It's a little too much to handle for a long stay. Hopefully something can be done to eliminate the problem. Also, it'll be nice to have a dishwasher installed..

This property was great! Our favorite part was the screened in porch, we hung out there mostly the whole time! Our dogs LOVED the open space to run around outside. Only part that was an adjustment is the sulfur smell from the water but everything else was so great, you can overlook, just be prepared!
