We Would Stay Here Again
Our favorite accommodation on our Vancouver Island tour. We liked the location, out of town and near our friends. My favorite things were the outdoor grill (try the local salmon if you can find it), the host's delicious homemade bread, and the roomba-like (Shark, actually) device that did a super job picking up crumbs and little bits of nature that blew in. It's the basement apartment of the owners. We barely knew they were there, it was so quiet and peaceful. Lots of light and air through the windows. Plenty of room for two people to spread out, all the kitchen gear we needed and more. The shower was a generous spray (unlike some places), and easy to figure out (ditto). Also, everything was super-clean. Highly recommended!!

Family Vacation
This was the perfect home away from home, amenities were great. The location was also great for us, we were gone everyday exploring the island. I would recommend to family and friends. It was a great pleasure to meet Maggie and Mark. Had a great time on Vancouver Island, could not have asked for a better stay.

Great Getaway
This was a wonderful base for our stay in Cowichan. Clean, well equipped, great wifi, responsive and friendly hosts (great baker!). We enjoyed our stay in their quiet suite and it provided great access to Victoria, Nanaimo and smaller cities in the valley. Good restaurants nearby, terrific hiking and mountain biking very close as well. I rated the location a 4 only because the hills make it a challenge for a quick, relaxing walk. You need a vehicle to get to most points of interest but there is lots to do in the area. We will definitely stay again!

Great location, even greater recovery
We came to this property when visiting Duncan for a sports event. The place was great, with even the smallest things thought through, and nice touches such as a loaf of warm bread waiting for hus. The high quality recovery certainly added to the medal and crushed next-gen normative that the athletes scored. Thank you, Mark & Maggie! Your place is certainly on our list for the future travels into this area.

The Perfect Home Away From Home
The Maple Bay Mountain Guest Home is by far the best vacation home we’ve ever stayed in. Mark and Maggie thought of all of the creature comforts to make this truly a home away from home. And they are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. From the delicious, warm homemade oat bread to the wine and chocolates and homey touches, such as throw pillows and blankets, candles, coffee and tea - we highly recommend this vacation home. We enjoyed our stay very much. Everything needed for a comfortable stay was provide by Mark & Maggie. We were surprised when they gave us a homemade freshly baked loaf of bread! There was also a bottle of wine and chocolates waiting for us upon arrival. It’s a quiet new neighborhood with a nice view. We are very happy to recommend to anyone who is looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay.

Nice comfortable hideaway
We had a wonderful stay at this cozy little VRBO! It has everything that you could possibly need at your fingertips. We were able to cook some meals and enjoy some chilling out time on their cozy sofa. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets if needed. The kitchen was well equipped as was the bathroom. It was perfect for what we needed when visiting the Duncan area. It is a little far away from amenities and high on a hill. We will be back and probably look into renting it again. Thanks to the owners Mark and Maggie for welcoming us with a fresh baked loaf of bread! A nice touch!

Beautiful home and location!
First trip to the island to visit our daughter. Mark and Maggie have a beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood with a gorgeous view of the lake from their front yard! The suite is a downstairs unit below the main house. We had a looooong travel day and did not arrive until after midnight so the coded entry made it easy without having to make special arrangements to get in. Mark and Maggie have thought of literally everything you could possibly need, including a delicious welcome loaf of homemade bread. The suite itself looked like a West Elm showroom - comfortable and tastefully furnished, including homey touches without being cluttered. Bed was comfy. walk-in closet had plenty of space and hangers and the entire place was spotless. Highly recommend and we hope to be back soon!

Up up up! Great home away from home in beautiful maple bay
In a lovely new neighborhood up in maple bay, we really enjoyed our little place while we attended a dance competition at the cowichan theater. Laundry, full kitchen, & a really nice fresh bread dropped off by the lovely hosts. I just wouldn’t ever want a hotel after this. Hosts were quick with responses to my questions. Grateful :)

We had a fantastic stay at this property. The house is quite new and care was taken in thinking through the amenities. It was quiet, extremely clean, we were able to make a couple of dinners in, watched a little Netflix and generally relaxed. There was an option to do laundry which we didn't find necessary this time, but it was nice to have the option. I would highly recommend this place and stay there again.

Everything is great at this property. The only thing we didn't care for was 2 backless stools at the table, but the owners called and delivered 2 very comfyconventional chairs (without our prompting) because the previous guests had mentioned it already. Great hosts.

Awesome place to stay
Large spacious apartment with everything you need while away from home. Excellent location to stay and see what's in the area or do day trips to Sidney, Saanich , Victoria, Nainimo etc. 10km from ferry to salt spring island and 5 min drive to Maple Bay local marina with sea side beach, kayaking, restaurants. Lovely hosts to help you when needed. We will hopefully be back again.
