Please include the full name, branch of service, when they served (or the name of the war or conflict), and their hometown. And they will be added to the wall!)

ABOUT the Town of DUBOIS:
In this town of under 1000 in the winter (and over 3500 in the summer) you will find a Family Dollar store and the Dubois Super Foods for food or snacks. The grocery store as well as both bars in town, the Rustic and the Outlaw, offer package liquor. If you prefer to eat out, we have restaurants on the quaint cowboy inspired main street less than a mile to the east, or at the Sinclair station across the highway who now are serving Oriental food as well as breakfast burritos and pizzas. See the three-ring binder upon your arrival for more information about places to eat and things to do. We recommend you call first as schedules change each season.
Right outside the back sliding glass doors you will find the Wind River Landing Pond. Fishing is available at the pond as well as on the Wind River which skirts the south side of the property. Grab a Wyoming fishing license at the Super foods or other fine retailer and try your luck! The Wind River never freezes over. The pond at Wind River Landing is fed by the warm springs in the area from the north so it does
not completely freeze over and is not safe for ice skating or ice fishing during the winter. There is an outdoor ice-skating rink in the city park ballfields just south of the Family Dollar store. Skates are available to borrow at the Headwaters building just west of the rink
If you are a hiking, ATV, horseback riding, hunter, snowmobile or cross-country skiing enthusiast, this area has it all very close by. The trail system for horseback riding, ATV or UTV's is just a quick trip up the mountain to the Shoshone National Forest. Depending on the snow in the area Snowmobilers have a short ride or drive to unload at the trail system. Wind River Landing is less than 30 minutes to Togwatee Pass on the Continental Divide that boasts the most snow in the area but there are also many snowmobile trails closer that all connect to the best snowmobile riding on earth! Grab a trail map at the Polaris or Honda dealer (other side of the highway) or Super Foods where snowmobile stickers are sold in town.
During the summer months local outfitters offer horseback riding and pack trips into the beautiful mountains surrounding Dubois. Summer also brings the opportunity for Wind River Float Trips that enter the Wind River Indian Reservation waters. Or practice your swing at Antelope Hills golf course, just a stone's throw away for golfing enthusiasts which is just north of this property!
Want to plan a day trip? This property is only about an hour from Grand Teton National Park and only a bit farther to Yellowstone, the Jackson airport or town of Jackson Hole. No matter how you want to spend your vacation there is so much to see and do in this area!
The owners came to this part of the country from Omaha Nebraska in January 1991 on a snowmobile trip and fell in love with the town and the surrounding mountains. Almost seven years ago, they moved here permanently to retire and enjoy it all. They hope you enjoy your stay. Thanks for considering staying at “The Patriot” at Wind River Landing.
