We found the apartment to be fairly clean, well equipped, and nicely furnished. The common area was comfortable once problems with the window AC were resolved.
The unit is in an older building, so some additional challenges are related to that. First off, the trim around the entry door was not properly cut. This led to the door catching on the trim panels whenever we went in or out. The property manager noted this for repair.
The unit is definitely not ADA compliant. Because we are all over 65, we discovered during the booking process that the only access to the apartment is via a narrow, partially lit, staircase having 19 steps to reach the second level unit with little room to maneuver.
Overall, the unit was clean, however there were food items from previous occupants left in the cabinets and refrigerator. The first time I opened the oven, I detected that it also had not been well cleaned.
The unit might sleep 6, but there’s only 1 bath to share.
The AC mentioned previously is a tiny window unit in the common area which was too small to cool all the rooms and did nothing for the bedrooms when the doors are closed. This led to some uncomfortably warm nights during our stay. It is my opinion that a better solution, barring a total renovation, is to add similar sized, small AC units to each of the bedrooms.
The freezer's ice maker is inoperative, but there was no tray to catch the ice anyway.
The stovetop has an erroneous light indicating a hot burner.
Thank you.
