Beautiful hotel. Staff was great: friendly and helpful. But too many strange incidents. The elevator went down and didn’t work for two days causing lines and gluts when trying to go both up and down. The lobby is beautiful and my wife and I wanted to get a drink and sit in the lobby sitting area and chat one evening. But a family had hijacked the whole room. Their kids were running around and screaming as if they were in a playground making it impossible to sit there. The desk clerk gave us a free bottle of champagne, apologized and asked us to drink in our room. We were surprised that they let these wild kids take over the whole lobby. At breakfast one morning there was a large piece of paper In my yogurt. I fished it out and showed it to the waitress who was embarrassed and apologized, saying it was from the container and had fallen into the yogurt. She brought me a new one. Very strange stuff for a hotel that has such a high class reputation. These are things you’d expect at a cheap motel.
