LA MIA FAVORITA is an open space located in one of the most beautiful streets of the historic pedestrian center of Desenzano del Garda, which directly overlooks the small Feltrinelli square with an unmissable lake view. The apartment is located on the second floor of a typical Desenzanese house and has been completely renovated and furnished in June 2018. The renovation has not prevented the maintenance of the original exposed beams. The apartment is equipped with every comfort. The fully equipped kitchen, the large bathroom with large walk-in shower, dishwasher, air conditioning and free wi-fi complete the description of this new elegant and bright structure.

Nice but some problems
This studio (no separate bedroom) apartment is as nice-looking as the photos, is generally well-equipped with everything in good working order. As for location: great for tourism, bad for supermarket access, and the pedestrianized area below the front windows is quite noisy at night. There were some problems worth noting. Most seriously, in the bathroom first aid box there was a bloodied mess of used items as well as a pool of dried blood in the bottom of the box. Other evidence of faulty cleaning was the moka (espresso maker) found in a drawer still containing used coffee grounds left by a prior renter and a frying pan that was covered with grease. We communicated some of this before departure, and the management was sympathetic and apologetic. In the bathroom: the levers for plugging the bathroom sink and bidet were stuck as if frozen, the light above the sink did not work and another ceiling bulb was burnt out, and there is nowhere to place soap and shampoo in the shower stall except on the floor. In the kitchen: We were not told that the electrical system cannot support more than one appliance at a time. The power went out when we turned on the toaster and electric tea kettle. We contacted the manager, a maintenance man came within 15 minutes, and it was only because I speak Italian that we learned the cause of the power outage. There were none of the food items usually found in rentals (spices, tea, coffee, sugar, rice, pasta, etc.) but the policy to save nothing may be due to covid concerns. Potholders are needed. In the sleeping area: The curtain separating it from the living room is attractive but very transparent and does not block out the bright morning sun or give privacy. In the living/dining room: a comfortable sofa for relaxing and a nice big kitchen table but the heavy straw area rug was a serious hazard that we had to roll up and put away. We kept tripping over it because it had creases that would not lie flat and corners that stuck u p in the air. It also slid when we stepped on it because it did not have a non-slip backing. Arrival day meeting: Our young presenter gave me a key ring and explained the use of 2 of the keys. I had to ask to find out what the other keys were for, including a safe which he otherwise had not mentioned. As already noted, our presenter did not warn us about the limitations of the electrical system.
