AMENITIES
Towels, sheets, and blankets are all on the beds, and available for the queen pull out, as well. Towels can be found in the bedroom closet, up on the shelf.
There are also shampoo, soaps, conditioners, etc, left for your use.
In the bathroom cupboard you will find hair curlers, blow dryer, and a straightener.
Toilet paper is in there as well, and extra paper towels are under the sink.
We try to make sure there is salt, pepper, olive oil, sugar, and basic spices there for your use, and whatever gets left by a guest will be left and we welcome using whatever products are left behind. Perishables are disposed of after every visit.
We keep laundry soap and dryer sheets in the guest room closet, as well.
The shower can a squeegee; please wipe the glass after use!
LAUNDRY
There is a laundry room on the lowest level of the house. To reach it, you will need to take the key hanging by the door, and go down the external staircase. You will see a glass door on the side of the main house, near the carriage house. Unlock that door and you will find the laundry room on your left. The laundry is shared by the tenant down there, but is secure and you will not need to worry about theft, so feel comfortable leaving your laundry in a cycle and heading out. Laundry can be moved over, and dried on a regular cycle, if you find a load in the washer that is complete. Dried laundry can be left in a pile on the counter in there, if you need to move a load in to dry.
There will be a sign available to set up on the dryer, if you have a load that needs a special delicate drying cycle, so please follow that signage if you find you are moving a load out for someone. Generally, this will not be an issue.
CLEANING SUPPLIES
There is a broom and dustpan, and a self-wringing mop in the bedroom closet, if you have any spills that need cleaning up. There is also a spray can of windex for any extra clean up that you want to do during your stay. Extra trash bags can be found under the kitchen sink.
KITCHEN
The antique stove that is in the kitchen has supplies like dish towels, cutting boards, hot pads, and tupperware in it, so make sure to, when looking for supplies, check in there as well.
GRILLING
Out on your porch you will find a small charcoal grill. This will be set up with charcoal, and there is extra charcoal under the kitchen sink behind the recycling can. That is also where you will find the lighter fluid. Please take all normal care when using a charcoal grill, and if you dispose of the ash, wait until it is fully cooled and put it in its own bag inside the trash.
There is a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink!
RECYCLING AND TRASH
The trash can can be found under the sink. If you find you have filled the trash or recycling, you can take it down and throw it in the cans, which are located between the carriage house and parking area behind a fence. You can throw trash and recycling directly into the cans and it does not need to be bagged. Extra trash bags can be found under the sink. The recycling bin is in the closet beside the dining area.
LUGGAGE STORAGE and PACK AND PLAY
In the same closet by the dining area, you will have ample space to store luggage, if you would like to get it out of the way.
There is also a Pack and Play available for use if you have a little one with you. This is also where you will find the spare comforter and pillows for the pull out sofa.
AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING
Both the bedroom and the living room have a remote control on the wall that controls the heating/air conditioning for the rooms. These split units work excellently. Please consider turning them off if you leave, as they heat up and cool instantaneously. There is central heat through the radiators that keep the entire house heated to a base temperature, and the split units are intended to reach your perfect personal comfort.
Guests will have full private access to the attic unit. There is a private entrance, through the exterior staircase, up to the porch, and with a code lock to enter the unit. The entry is from the porch, through the bathroom (a small oddity of an over 100 year old house!), and then into the kitchen.
**While the unit is totally kid friendly, the stairs leading to it are very steep, and the roof meets to porch, so children will need to be watched closely at all times when outside to make sure they climb the stairs safely, and don't climb on the roof when outside.
THE PROPERTY
You can see, where you part is the original carriage house. It is now an apartment that has a long term renter in it. The garden level of the main house also has a full time tenant living in it, so when you are parking, coming and going, you will see these renters from time to time!
PARKING
There is one off street parking spot for your use. When you drive up the driveway, it is the spot in the gravel directly straight ahead. Please park as far to the left as you can, to ensure room for the other cars in the parking area. There will often be a car parked at the end of the driveway closest to the street, and you might have to drive around to the left of the car to get into the back lot.
ENTRY TO APARTMENT
Once you are parked you will see a two story external staircase leading up to your attic unit. Go ahead up the stairs, and the door directly in front of you will have a keyless entry pad on it. The code to the door will be texted or emailed directly to you a couple of days before your stay.
The porch you are standing on when you enter is your private outdoor patio. Please ENJOY! It is Colorado, so we are Maryjane friendly, though there is absolutely no cigarette smoking on the property. We do hope you have the time to sit and enjoy the sunsets with a glass of wine and enjoy dinners outside. Make sure to turn the hanging string lights on at night!
