Not a bad place to stay little older hotel, but clean, comfortable beds could not get in the lobby and there is no breakfast but all in all not a bad stay

Nothing Like Small Town Texas
I was driving from Colorado to Houston and had some car issues so decided to stop in Bowie. Glad I did. The motel was comfortable, felt safe, and the owner(?) was very helpful. He gave me the name of a mechanic to check in with in the morning.

"Bates Motel" vibe
The motel had serious "Bates Motel" vibes as soon as we pulled up. It was raining and we weren't allowed into the motel lobby. I stood outside to check in. The clerk was nice and informative about the weather but the experience was fear inducing. When we got to the room, there were some bugs in the floor and the bathtub but it was late. We checked for bed bugs and decided maybe it was the rain. We made sure to put the chair in front of the door before trying to sleep. In the morning light, the floor boards were pieced together and there were gaps in the door.

Exceptionally clean, convenient location and great food at restaurant next door. Laundromat on site, parking in front of door. Quiet neighborhood. Microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator in room.

Rude check-in, not even allowed in the lobby. Room was dusty, even the fake wood paneling was dusty. Chipped paint on doorways, very unkempt.
