The heritage of this can be seen in the pretty conservation area in the centre of the town. There is also a lively shopping centre with many high street names and a good selection of interesting independent shops. Along the seafront and in the town are many bars, pubs and restaurants including one at the end of the pier, where you can enjoy a good meal and admire the wonderful views of the elegant seafront properties and the surrounding coastline, as far as the White Cliffs of Dover past the 3 famous links golf courses and across to the Isle of Thanet.
