Daufuskie Island, SC is a place you can truly relax. Daufuskie Island sits between Hilton Head and Tybee Island (both visible from the Sandy Lane beach). While on Daufuskie Island you will want to explore the historical part of the island visit local artisans, or just enjoy the beautiful beach with the white sand.

While exploring the island you will want to visit the Silverdew Winery and the Bloody Point Lighthouse Museum and Gift Shop. The tiny and historic Silver Dew Winery is located in an unassuming building that dates all the way back to 1883. The building was originally constructed as what was known back then as a "wick house". Wick houses were used as a place to store oil, wicks, and even the lamp for the nearby Bloody Point Lighthouse. Their handcrafted soaps and body products are made in-house in small batches. Daufuskie Soap Co. offers a truly authentic, artisanal indulgence; A visit to the Daufuskie Blues studio includes a real-life, schoolbook lesson about the history of indigo and about preserving the historical techniques and skills that can bring out the magic of this amazingly beautiful blue color! Once dyed, indigo is so colorfast that it can last for centuries. The front room of the old two-room schoolhouse is where you will encounter hand-dyed textiles (scarves, napkins, hand towels, shirts) made with organic indigo and other natural colors only available on Daufuskie Island.

Your destination vacation To Dafuskie Island begins with a trip across Calibogue Sound via public ferryboat or private water taxi.

IMPORTANT: DAUFUSKIE ISLAND HAS NO BRIDGE, AND IT IS NECESSARY TO TAKE A FERRY OR WATER TAXI TO GET HERE. YOU WILL LEAVE YOUR CAR ON THE MAINLAND AND USE A GOLF CART TO GET AROUND THE ISLAND.
