If you can, please read all information provided in this listing. This is a private country house on 120 acres of woods and fields, cut in with trails, in Wisconsin's Driftless Region. Located 30 min to Devil's lake, 45 to Wisconsin Dells and only 25 Minutes to downtown Madison. Events or a party, Common Gardens for more details, we love events.
The space
The house and grounds you are renting are eclectically decorated, well maintained and well stocked. In the kitchen you'll find coffee, tea, hot chocolate, spices, cooking oils, baking supplies, frozen pizzas, s'more makings, beer, wine and fresh eggs, as well as the means in which to prepare them and more, ask if you have any special requests. The beds are tempur-pedic with high quality linens, the bathrooms are stocked with towels and extra things you might have forgotten. These are all for you and your company. There is a porch for the warm months, indoor wood stove for the cold ones, with fire wood. Its also heated with propane and cooled with A/C. Board games line a wall and books another, the two smart TVs are pre-loaded with Netflix, Hulu, Hbo, and Disney plus. Nothing wrong with a nice movie on a rainy day or after a long hike, there's popcorn in the kitchen.
Outside the grounds are lit by string lights, you'll find a charcoal grill with all the tools and supplies needed to get it cooking. Near by is your private bon fire pit, with firewood.
For safety and health we use natural based cleaners, dye and fragrance free detergents. We have installed; CO2, radon and smoke detectors throughout the home as well as air-purifiers. First aid-kit, flashlights, lantern, weather radio and battery charged night lights for storms. Also feel free to do laundry in the basement, its free. Please, please,
- Be loud, be merry, have fun, sleep in, relax, explore!
Guest access
We leave the house unlocked, just walk in whenever you arrive, you'll receive a door code for the electronic lock. Beyond the firepit, the farm has a lot of neat things to see, the chickens, the barn, the trails, Feel free to walk around and explore, there are five members of our staff, all very friendly and kind, please engage them but they will leave you alone unless you want to chat, staff quarters will be marked with signs. For a hike, head to near by Indian Lake State park, they have 650 acres of trails and a dog park. For a swim, Salmo pond.
Other things to note
In years previous, we were a working farm that produced large amounts of firewood, produce, eggs ect. We have since moved more to weddings and rentals. We ask 15$/day per pet, please don’t let your dogs eat our chickens, if you need to add a pet, just send an alteration on your reservation, we would love to host your furry friends.

Our family of 3 stayed here for our daughter's graduation from UW Madison. We were so busy that we basically just got to sleep here, but we all said we wished we could come back another time when we could just stay around the Farm - it was so cozy and relaxing! It feels very homey, the beds are super comfortable, and it's out in the middle of country, so peaceful! The icing on the cake was the incredibly sweet cat Rocky who greeted us at the door - made it feel even more homey! Common was a great communicator! Thank you so much - we look forward to visiting again sometime!

Great stay
Really great stay in all the right ways. Comfy beds, homey touches with all the cooking basics and a nicely stocked kitchen. Plenty of games inside and out, and the hammock was well used. Loved the lights at night!!!’

Interesting place
The Napping farm has interesting history documented in the welcome book. There's games and books to keep you occupied and if those don't work, there's high speed internet and tvs. But a walk around the property is also a welcome attraction. The kitchen and baths are stocked with much more than is necessary. We enjoyed our stay!

Perfect getaway
Perfect weekend getaway! Remote enough to see the stars and be able to relax, but close enough to grab a meal out or groceries to make in the kitchen with ease. Love the house, the grounds and the whole experience. I definitely hope to be back again!
