This apartment appears like someone lives here and leaves for the time it is being rented out as a vrbo. Food in the fridge, used shampoo bottles and soap bars in the restroom, clothes and shoes in the closet, stuffed animals on the dresser for example. (I took photos upon arrival)
I just felt like I kicked someone out of their home for 4 days.
The apartment is very dirty, hair left on the bathroom countertops, sticky substance on kitchen table, food particles left in microwave, filthy light switches, doors, and faucets. The floors were sticky and the toilet had urine still dripping from the rim. I did not want to stay, but didn't want to fight for a refund. I was in town for a convention and decided not to stay the last night and make the 4 hour drive home instead, but still did not ask for a refund.
I rated the "location and neighborhood" low as well because there were large pieces of furniture set out on the side of the road across the street like trash that appears to have been there for a long time.
The host did agree to allow us to bring our large dog, which is the reason we chose this vrbo (we didn't end up needing to bring our pet) but I did notice they have two very large pit bulls pinned in their backyard and even though they were caged, I'm glad we didn't have our dog trying to potty in their backyard.
I hope this review helps the host realize they are competing with clean hotels that can be booked for a similar price.
