I booked a double room for 5 nights via Cheap Tickets. Upon arrival, they said that they were overbooked so they had to put us in their sister hotel, which was in a small narrow street and far from the city centre. To make it worse, the room that they put me in had only a bed. Nothing else!
My booking came with free breakfast but they said we wouldn't get any breakfast because we didn't pay enough. Really? Then why advertise free breakfast? We paid what they asked on Cheap Tickets website. Not sure what they meant by not paying enough.
They wanted me to stay at their sister hotel for 2 nights, but couldn't warranty a room at their hotel after that. I decided to call Cheap Tickets asking for a refund so that I could go to a different hotel. When Cheap Tickets called them, they said that there was a room for us so they wouldn't refund. However, when we called them back, all we got was abuse from the owner. She claimed that she had to no idea who Cheap Tickets was, she didn't want to work with them. Strange!
We gave up and stayed at the sister hotel for 2 nights. When we moved to their hotel, the room was mouldy and dirty. We asked to move to a different room. The owner threw another storm of abuse to us, especially because we paid a lower price via Cheap Tickets.
Fortunately she was tired with her abuse and decided that she didn't want us at the hotel any more. She gave us a refund and kicked us out.
We found much better and cheaper hotel for the rest of our stay.
