We enjoyed our stay at El Balcon. It was conveniently located, clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. As you can see from the photos of others, it's very quaint.
This property is stunning. We stayed 3 nights at a 5 star prior to a trek, and stayed our last evening at El Balcon when we returned to Cusco. We are already planning our next trip and this hotel is our first choice. We stayed in 18, the balcony suite on the corner. The fireplace was loaded and set up when we arrived and the room was gorgeous. The decor was STUNNING. The shower was hot and water pressure was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious. Fresh juice, amazing guacamole, homemade butter and jam. The staff were the most thoughtful people we’d met in Peru. We felt very welcome. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cusco! Beautiful place and lovely helpful staff! Very walkable distance to the main square but just far enough away to be a quieter area. Also a nice walk/hike from the hotel to the ruins!
Maria at reception is the best! She helped our family with coordinating transportation and finding out information about Cusco. All of the staff were friendly and kind. The rooms and property are beautiful and extremely well maintained. The meals in the restaurant were delicious and a full breakfast was provided.
El Balcon is a nice hotel. However it is not reccomended for people with disabilities or problem with walking steep roads or climbing steps. The hotel breakfast is excellent and staff is very courteous and helpful.
Ei Balcon was perfect for me. Time for myself and writing in a beautiful place; an excellent breakfast, a good supper and glass of wine if I wanted it. Friendly service and easy access to the centre, along with wonderful views. I hope I will have the chance to come back.
Das beste Hotel unserer Reise!
Total schönes Anwesen, die Zimmer rustikal modern eingerichtet und das Frühstück der absolute Hammer! Das freundliche Personal hat uns auch mit einem Transfer zum Flughafen geholfen. Alles in allem top!!
We have stayed at El Balcon twice and have a third stay booked. Well kept property and grounds, courteous staff, great breakfast, very clean and comfortable rooms and bed, common dining area open after hours, free luggage storage while a trek, 10 minute walk from plaza. Quiet street at night.
We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The building and the view are beautiful and the restaurant was very good too. I would recommend to anyone looking for a hotel jn Cusco.
Excellent location and rustic lodge.
The breakfast was fantastic with local produce and cereal made by the kitchen ladies !!
only con- room was cold due to old structure and inadequate heating
A delightful place. Nice room in an historic building and the best breakfast we had in the whole of Peru: the formidable lady in charge of the restaurant was really keen that we had a nice meal. A pretty good location - about 15 minutes' walk from the main square but you wouldn't want to be any closer in than that, probably
Absolutely amazing with friendly staff and amazing food, give it a try, you'll love it!

Liked: Cleanliness
The physical location in an old traditional house is great. Food was awesome. Rooms needed more places to store or hang clothes. Biggest negative was bathroom. The steam from the shower would accumulate and condense in the skylight. Then it dripped on you as you stood at the sink, brushing teeth, washing hands, etc. As a result, it had a very dank, unpleasant smell.
Pictures are deceiving. This "hostal" was located on a very dangerous road in Cusco. The road is so narrow that you're nearly struck by traffic entering or exiting the premises. The front door is locked and you must buzz your way into the property like a delivery person. There are no televisions in the room and generally everything is dated. The staff was rather rude upon our check-in. Breakfast was also sub-par. If I was forced to say something positive about this hotel, I would say their interior garden area is beautiful. It is also located only 5 or 6 minutes walking to Plaza de Armas.
I stayed in Abittare hotel for 2 days prior to this stay and it was far superior.
I recommend another hotel for your stay in Cusco.
