Sea Thrift House is a beautiful Arts and Crafts three-storey terraced house, overlooking the cricket ground and tucked away in quiet street in Overstrand and a short walk through the grounds of The Pleasance, down to the beach. This impressive family home has been renovated and styled beautifully throughout by the current owners and is the perfect place to escape and enjoy long walks and days on the beach.

The house is arranged over three floors with a sitting room, dining room, breakfast room, kitchen and garden room on the ground floor; Three bedrooms, one bathroom, one shower room and a separate loo on the first floor and two further bedrooms and a shower room on the second floor.

On entering the house from the pedestrian walkway, you are welcomed into the stunning entrance hall with the original black and white tiled flooring and the staircase straight ahead. The sitting room to the right connects to the dining room with internal antique pine doors, which can be closed if you wished. The sitting room has comfortable sofas and armchairs arranged around the ornamental fireplace and a smart television. The dining room is perfect for evening suppers with French doors leading out to the courtyard garden. At the rear of the house beyond the staircase, the breakfast room leads through to the kitchen and onto the garden room out to the pretty courtyard garden. The well equipped kitchen is perfect for rustling up delicious suppers and has a free standing five burner range cooker, a full height fridge, integrated dishwasher, wine fridge and microwave. The garden room beyond the kitchen houses the washing machine and has a sofa and two rattan chairs. It is the ideal room for relaxing with a book or chatting, with plenty of natural light from the large window and a single glazed door going out to the garden.

On the first floor, there is the first of the large bedrooms with a bay window looking out over the front, a king size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers, pretty ornamental fireplace and an antique pine wardrobe. Next door is a shower room with walk in shower and hand wash basin. The second bedroom overlooks the garden and has an ornamental fireplace, a king size bed, bedside tables and free standing wardrobe with drawers at the bottom. On the other side of the stairs, on the first floor, is a separate loo next to the family bathroom with a roll top bath, separate shower enclosure, loo and hand wash basin. The third bedroom beyond the family bathroom has an ornamental fire place with a window to the side, a double bed, bedside tables, a chest of drawers and free standing wardrobe. The third bedroom has a back staircase (originally, the servants staircase) leading down to the Garden Room.

Up again to the second floor, there are two more bedrooms. To the front of the house is the largest bedroom with a bay window and far reaching views, a king size bed, bedside tables, armchair and free standing wardrobe. Next door is a pretty twin bedroom with bedside tables, a free standing wardrobe and views over the roof tops. The shower room has a walk in shower, hand wash basin, loo and a Velux window.

Outside

There is unrestricted parking on the street outside and it is possible to also drop off at the rear through the garden gate.

At the rear, the pretty courtyard garden is paved and part gravelled with plenty of room for morning coffee and al fresco dining in the warmer months. The outbuilding houses the tumble dryer, under counter freezer and outdoor furniture and is also perfect for storage of bicycles or beach equipment.
