Mafeking is a 3-bedroom home in the centre of the pretty village of Benenden, Kent. With generous social and games room spaces, a sophisticated colour palette and shades of natural wood, it is perfect for families to explore this wonderful part of the Weald. To the left through the front door is a cosy snug room with comfortable seating, Smart TV, log burner and French doors onto a veranda. To the other side of the porch, the large sitting room offers a big sofa, armchairs and a Smart TV. With a picture window to the garden and double doors into the kitchen-dining room, it has a great open plan feel. The dining table sits in front of another log burner, and the kitchen is well-equipped for your stay. Beyond the kitchen is a convenient utility room and a separate study with monitor, USB-C docking station, keyboard and mouse for catching up with work.

The three bedrooms are gathered around the central dining area:
- Bedroom One: double (4'6) bed, built-in wardrobes and drawers and an en-suite shower room.
- Bedroom Two: king size (5') bed, wardrobe with drawer.
- Bedroom Three: single bed (80cm wide) and wardrobe with drawer, with a pull-out bed to make a 160cm side-by-side twin for bookings with 6 guests. Please note that due to limited space the additional pull-out bed in Bedroom Three will only be set up and linen provided for bookings of six guests. For booking with 5 guests or less, Bedroom Three will be made up as a single.
- Family bathroom: claw foot bath.

Outside, the garden provides a circular lawn, winding paths, a patio with table and chairs and plenty of trees and borders. Nearby sights, attractions and day trips include the towns of Cranbrook, Hawkhurst and Tenterden, plenty of Wealden walking routes from the door, Sissinghurst Castle and gardens, Bodiam Castle, the Kent & East Sussex Steam Railway (stations at Tenterden and Bodiam Castle), Chapel Down Vineyard, Bewl Water, Go Ape and Bedgebury Pinetum and Forest, Rye and Camber Sands.

Accessibility: Gravel paths from the parking area to house. Three steps (10cm) up to the front door threshold. One step (15cm) up to the back door threshold. One step (15cm) down from the kitchen to the utility room and study. Bedroom One has an en-suite shower (3cm lip). Other internal floors are even and level, with no internal steps. Fantastic house!
We loved our stay in Mafeking - it’s really spacious, light, cosy and beautifully decorated and had absolutely everything that we needed with a young family. We honestly couldn’t have been happier there and will definitely return when we’re back in the area! Thank you so much for having us!
