Hotel itself was clean and great location on the highway for those passing through. The beds were terrible - comparable to sleeping on a board of wood; even our kids didn't sleep well and they usually crash anywhere. Hot tub was broken at time of visit and pool is either not heated or was broken as well - kids lasted 10 minutes then had blue lips and were shivering cold. Breakfast was small - cereal and toast with yogurt. Probably ok for those passing through town but not the best experience for us.

Everything was clean. However, on the Internet, the photo depicts this as a chalet like property, with a beautiful mountain background. However...the mountains are there, but the property itself is an old motel which has been redone and doesn't look anything like a chalet. In the rooms...they are clean...definitely clean.. It is great to have a nice little kitchenette which has the basics needed. No problem there...the kitchen supplies are there, but they are mismatched. That really didn't matter. However, I was a bit disappointed with the person at the front desk. He didn't even mention the free breakfast. I had to ask...it was as if he didn't want me to know. Over all, we had a good stay.

Sleepless in Fernie
We were given a room that is directly across from the main highway through town. It is a 60km/hr speed limit, but you’d think it was the Daytona 500 with all the racing that goes up and down it on a 24 hour basis. Trucks revving up their engines at 6am doesn’t make for a very restful stay. There was also some sort of construction crew staying above us and they were not quiet in the evening or at 6am in the morning when they were getting ready for work. That and the highway noise it made for a sleepless night. The free breakfast was good with yogurts, bagels, toast and jam, cereal and milk offered. Coffee too.

This was perhaps the filthiest, unkept hotel I've stayed at in my 40 years of life. I hope I can attach photos to do this review justice. It's an old property, but just completely uncared for. I don't know if it's worth $50/night, let alone the $185.60 I paid. The bathrub floored was stained, grease splatter on the wall/fridge near the stove, stains on flooring and seats, no baseboards on sections of the walls, dark towels that smelled musty (plus you can't tell if they're clean), a tv that was the size of a computer monitor, electrical outlet coverings half hanging off, and the advertised hottub and sauna were out of order. In tight times, it almost breaks one's heart to spend a lot of money and then get subjected to such low quality filth.

Dirty and bad service isn’t a great mix.
What a truly awful experience. The room was filthy, there was a half eaten hard candy stuck to the bedding of the sofa bed, there was dirty paper towels under the night stand of the one bed. Everything just felt grimy and unclean. When I brought this to the staffs attention they didn’t seem to care at all. I have already left a negative google review advising people to stay elsewhere, anywhere else.
