Caroline's Place in Historic Roscoe Village

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE to stay in one of the most iconic buildings in Historic Roscoe Village! The 1860's canal era building has a long history, originally constructed as a hotel on the 2nd and 3rd floors, the main floor was a pharmacy and dry goods store.

You will now find a full kitchen, full bathroom, living room, and two bedrooms, both with a queen size bed. The apartment has Direct TV as well as high speed internet.

This charming 3rd floor apartment is located in the heart of Historic Roscoe Village, just steps away from shopping, dining and two wonderful bars.
This unit has a shared heating and cooling system. We keep the temperature comfortable year round with heating and air conditioning.

There is Coin Operated Laundry available for guests, located on the 2nd floor of the building. Please feel free to use the laundry facility if you need.

You will have access to en entire apartment. There is a coin operated laundry area on the 2nd floor that is a common area open to all guests. You may also encounter guests on the back deck or porch areas.

Historic Roscoe Village is a charming canal era town. These towns are very unique in their own right, and very few of them still exist around the country. Many of the buildings in the village date back over 200 years.Downtown Coshocton is 2 minutes, Kid's America 10 minutes, Clary Gardens 3 minutes, Lake Park 5 minutes, West Lafayette and Warsaw 10 minutes. South Second Street (5 minutes) is where you will find fast food, pizza, discount stores and gas stations. EV chargers are located across from COTC on N. Whitewoman St. in Roscoe Village.

Roscoe Village is a very walkable area - once you've parked, you do not need a vehicle to explore the whole village. There is a dedicated gravel parking lot behind the building for our Airbnb and apartment guests. You will have access to an aerial photo of the building and parking lot for reference once you've booked.

You are staying in the restored Roscoe Hotel (circa 1856). The building was built by Arnold Medbery and it replaced Medbery’s earlier, wood framed hotel (built 1832) that burned. This building was also a stagecoach stop and was believed to have been on the Underground Railroad. The building housed retail businesses on the main level, sleeping rooms on the second and third floors, and a ballroom on the top floor.

The wood floors are from trees as far back as the 1600's and the original plaster walls have some cracks from nearly 170 years that add charm and character to the rooms. There was no electricity or cars and Ohio was just over 40 years old when this building was populated by early European settlers moving west. Millard Fillmore was president and the American civil war was still years away. This is no ordinary airbnb apartment, we have added modern conveniences but tried to keep the historical integrity alive for your enjoyment.
Make sure to visit the Coshocton Visitors Bureau located across the street from the apartment (at 432 N Whitewoman St) to get tons of local recommendations!
There are other apartments in the building, so general conscientiousness is expected and appreciated.
During your stay at this apartment building, you're just a quick walk from Coshocton Visitor Bureau. The apartment includes amenities such as a kitchen and a TV.

We came from Minnesota for my mother's memorial service. Stayed for 6 days. Good air conditioning, comfortable beds and couch, free private parking, spacious, great area. But . . . The property was notably not in good repair, window blinds, broken chairs, stains on couch, extremely poor paint jobs and holes in walls and ceilings (I'm not talking historic recreation). The cleanliness was spotty - some things were very clean that often are missed (e.g. dust on pictures), while other things were obviously missed, moldy shower and bath mat, dirty doors, floors, kitchen counter. They offered to re-clean. Door lock is poor (dead bolt was non-functional and the lock was only a modern closet lock).

Fun destination
Great location close to all the unique shops. Food options and ice cream a plus. Was there for the ballon festival too. Did the self guided tour and canal boat ride. Always had a parking spot out back. Great weekend getaway

Nice historic site.
Very nice. The women that stayed with me thought they needed newer bedding sheets etc. A more if a womans touch. I was ok with the decore. The only thing I would do is refresh with some new paint. Otherwise very nice. Maxx did a great job with details on checkin .I will be back Thanks John Slack.

Beautiful Autumn Getaway
Located in a nice quiet neighborhood, Caroline’s Place was perfect for us. Located close to shopping, dining and sightseeing we were able to walk to most activities. We also enjoyed the full kitchen for breakfast, dine in and board game night. Hosts are really nice and helpful. Lovely 2 bedroom apartment with living room and nice large screen TV. Apartment is very clean and tidy. Will definitely consider a return visit.
