Located a quick 5-minute drive into the heart of Nelson Bay and 7 minutes to Salamander Shopping Square. Evan's Retreat will charm its way into becoming your new home away from home with the original beach cottage feel, fixtures and design.

Close by to lovely beaches and walking paths. Plenty of space for family living. The budget price was attractive and comes with an old style house that has seen better days but is mostly comfortable for budget accommodation.

Interior clean, exterior very poor, toilet very low for aged or disabled people, with no handrail for assistance.. Shower rose drips continually in shower and no support handrail.. Photos of advert imply dwelling directly across road from the waterfront, shows 2 TVs ,1 only and only local free to air channels. In short a very aged property and over priced.

Great location, spacious old house.
We loved walking across the road to the beach. While the house was spacious, it needed considerable maintenance, especially curtaining in the main bedroom facing the street. Broken venetians don't give much privacy. It really didn't detract from a great stay.

Place smelled damp, mouldy and dusty. Furniture and Kitchen appliances are from second hand st vinnies. Rusted, stained,dirty. Dust and mould on walls, windows and Curtains. Don't bother cooking, kitchen utensils are eather broken or dirty, Rusted. Had to call the agency to complain only to be told its the cheapest in the are. For the money i paid the owner could at least get new kitchen appliances and furniture. Won't be back.

Have stayed twice in this house now, was disappointed there was no bbq needs more pegs for the clothes line pretty good home for the money could do with new carpet.
