Just over an hour from DC or Richmond, a huge transformation awaits: relax at this peaceful cottage, ideally situated just a couple blocks from the beach or the bay, in quiet and quirky Colonial Beach, Virginia.

The home flows naturally and feels airy and spacious for its size. Both the king bedroom and queen bedroom are super comfy and cozy. The living room includes a pull out queen sofa if you want to squeeze in 2 more.

Beyond the bedrooms, the house includes one full bathroom, a large dining table in an open-plan, brightly lit kitchen/dining area. The front porch is shaded after the early morning, and the back porch is almost always sunny. The large back yard is fenced in and includes grass and patio space with a gas grill.

The home includes lots of free off-street parking, and is an easy walk to the bay, the beach, or to restaurants on the water or in town. Rent golf carts or use the bikes to explore a little further, or hop in your car and hit historic sites or beautiful vineyards.

Arrive by boat and walk 1.5 blocks from the dock to the house, and then spend a few days exploring the lower Potomac River, Shark's Tooth Island, or venture out into the Chesapeake Bay.
