Nice flat but mis communication with owner was unfortunate.
We booked the flat 12 months prior to the date of arrival. The booking was accepted. Then the owner said he may have to put up the price as he had not reviewed the rates. I was happy with this and when I reviewed the rate, I agreed with what was showing. (I didn't have access to what it had been before so wasn't aware how much it had changed) but agreed with the figure.
Towards our arrival date Eric asked for a further 90 euros in cash on our arrival. This was the only note I had of an increase. I did not see this request as it was just before we arrived. Therefore on arrival at the property he asked for the money. We felt obliged to pay otherwise we would have no where to stay if he had asked us to leave.
VRBO agree that there is no increase shown on the balance to our account and that we should not have paid the additional amount.
We believe Eric may of made a mistake but we had to pay for it.
It was embarrassing and had we not had euros I am unsure what would have happened. A poor start to our break.
Just be aware that you need to ensure you know exactly what you are paying!
With regard to the flat, it was clean and in a good position. I would also mention that there are not two bedrooms. There is one bedroom with single beds. The lounge has the other bed which you need to go through to reach the bedroom.
