Woke up to loud banging on the floor above us and didn’t stop for 5 hours. Asked the desk and they told me it was renovations going on. Maybe someone could have told us beforehand before we checked in? Also asked the front desk to get someone to look at our shower as it wasn’t functioning properly, they didn’t send anyone up. The housekeeping staff didn’t speak much English and when we asked them to turn down our room they didn’t understand and our room was never cleaned or beds remade.

Will never stay at this hotel again! We were awoken to loud thuds and banging on the floor above us and it didn’t stop for 5 hours while we tried to sleep. Once I asked the reception they said they were remodeling. I wish someone would have told us before we checked in otherwise we would have never stayed at this property. There was nothing done for the inconvenience either.

Good value
It seems like they're in the process of renovating, which is good. A few signs of wear, like older tv's with some issues. Still, the price is right for the level of comfort and service. And it was nice and quiet for a decently busy Friday downtown. Halle building parking across the street is fine, cheaper than valet even if there's a Playhouse Square/arena event going on.
