Roman Cottage, a cosy romantic cottage in the Cotswold village of Colerne

Roman Cottage is situated in the perfect location just outside of Bath but in the countryside. Our pretty little one bedroom cottage is in the picturesque village of Colerne. For a peaceful break in the country and only a short journey to Bath for days/nights out, giving you the best of both worlds. A village shop, florist and two pubs all in a 3 min walk. Comfy & cosy, great for a couple & very affordable. There is so much to explore in the area and miles and miles of countryside walks if you choose - or just relax in peace and quiet in comfort.

The cottage has many original features including exposed wooden beams in the lounge and bedroom. There is an inglenook fireplace with a working log burner. One basket of logs are supplied (November - March).

The cottage does not have a garden, but does benefit from a front patio which has a table and two chairs.

Perfect as wedding accommodation for Lucknam Park (5 minute drive) and The Lost Orangery - Colerne (10 minute drive).
During your stay at this cottage, you'll be close to Corsham Court. The cottage includes amenities such as free WiFi and a kitchen.
  • The cottage offers a kitchen, a washing machine, and a fireplace
  • Free WiFi
  • 10 minutes by car from Corsham Court and 11 minutes from Dyrham Park

Nice week in the country
My daughter and I spent a nice week in the cottage. We enjoyed exploring the Cotswolds and Bath. The cottage was comfortable and cozy.

Wonderful cozy cottage
We were visiting for a friends wedding, and this was the perfect spot nearby. The cottage was clean and cozy, and the communication was amazing. We had a wonderful time!

Wonderful stay!
We got a bit turned around on our way to the cottage and the hosts were very responsive and helped us get back on track. The cottage was in a great location, around many footpaths, easy to get to Bath, Lacock, Gloucester, and other areas. The stairs to the first floor are quite narrow and we had one slip despite the hand rail. I could see this being an issue for those with mobility challenges. Overall we had a wonderful time and would happily stay there again!

Super Little Cottage
A great two up, two down cottage. Small, but for two, ideal. It also has every modern device you need, plus WiFi, TV, etc. Nice neighbours too. Parking is tricky but that's because the immediate area is so old. Would definitely recommend

Cosy, Romantic Cottage, 5 Star!
If you’re looking for a cosy cute romantic getaway from the fast pace norm of life and just wanted a quiet getaway. This here is the perfect place. Has its own fireplace indoors which Lisa was lovely enkugh to provide firewood for, and the whole aura of the cottage was just simply so comfortable, homley and so relaxing. Definitely a great “getaway” where you can relax and put your feet up, and for couples definitely have a romantic time away from the “outside” world.

Gorgeous cottage in the friendliest most picturesque village! Perfect travelling distance to Bath (use the website JustPark for inner city parking!) and the Cotswolds, Bradford-on-Avon. What a beautiful part of the country, we will be back. Cottage needs a little more care taken to it but those small things are endearing! Great communication with hosts who couldn’t have done more for us. Recommend :)

Long weekend peac!
Beautiful and very well equipped, on a quiet road in a beautiful village which is also a strong community. Close to family and friends in the region and some stunning countryside for walks and relaxation, as well as to towns and cities for history culture and so on. We will be back!

Perfect weekend
This was a great long weekend break, the cottage is cute and quirky. Really comfortable and well positioned. If your tall 6ft+ you'll need to bend in the kitchen, mind the beams, so funny seeing my husband like that. Overall great stay definitely will come back when we next visit bath

Roman Cottage
This was a beautiful way to spend a few days in the UK. The cottage was comfortable, clean and set in lovely surroundings. Colerne was a good location, with friendly local people, and a nice pub, with great food. We visited friends who live in Bristol, and enjoyed the surrounding towns and villages too!

Cosy cottage for two with plenty of charm
Lovely stay at Roman Cottage. The cottage is small but great for a couple. It was a great location for visiting Bath and the surrounding area. I love Badminton horse trial and this again isn’t too far from that. Even though dogs are welcome there is no garden with this property so it worked out well not taking ours with us although there is lovely walking straight from the front door!
