I did not stay at this hotel. I left as soon as I saw the room. It was nasty, smelled horrible and had stains on the sheets.

I was able to sleep well while I was here but there were certain things about the room that were very run down. The light in my bathroom lacked the proper fixture and you could see wires powering the lights from below. Also, one of the locks on the door leading into my room was falling apart and only held on by two screws, one of which was sticking out when I got there and I screwed it in by hand in hopes that it would increase its structural integrity if someone tried to come into my room.

Room was clean and standard of a Red Roof. Staff was the most exceptional part- really nice folks running the front desk. Very easy to work with. Our stay was fairly quiet. Bed was comfy. Price was one of the most reasonable around the area and was a short drive to anywhere we wanted to go.

We had a good time staying here but there were several very minorly inconvenient things about this place. Why are the lights motion sensor activated? That is SO weird for a small room where you're expected to be relaxing in your bed. There were multiple settings for each light, but none of them left the light on. We had to get up or flail around to turn the lights back on like every 10 minutes. For some reason the wifi kept turning off for long periods of time? Another thing that bothered us was the complete lack of tint on the windows. We had to keep the curtains shut for our entire trip because the windows are quite literally Crystal Clear, no tint at all. Usually I wouldn't mind but being on street level facing the parking lot is not... preferable. The staff was super nice, the location was perfect for us, the room was clean and we had a great time! But please for the love of God change the lights from motion sensor.

I was disappointed with my stay at the hotel. It wasn't clearly communicated that room service had to be requested, as the information was in very small print on a paper that was hard to notice from the front desk. Additionally, the condition of the room was subpar, with scratches visible throughout.

Affordable, basic, non functional fridge/microwave
This was good enough to spend the night and shower, nothing more. Very basic and there was really strong unpleasant smell in the room. We had to aerate it for quite sometime before feeling okay in the room air. Refrigerator was barely cooling, freezer part would not freeze, and lower part did not cool at all. Microwave was not heating even though seemed functional. We had to stay for the proximity to the event we were attending otherwise would’ve preferred other better place. This is affordable for Chicago area. This was under my budget and others were gone way over my budget by the time I booked due to big event taking place, so I had no choice. Plus version of Red Roof are always amazing for the offered price so I took a chance but not impressed at all. I didn’t feel good about the cleanliness of the towels. Oh yes, the automatic lights are very annoying. Bathroom goes dark when you’re showering inside and sink area lights up when you’re trying to sleep with a little movement.
