Would recommend this to anyone it was very clean very quiet, Jamie did a wonderful job communicating and making sure we enjoyed our stay. We stayed for 2 nights and had our two dogs with she provided a kennel and had a dog bed and everything if your looking for a quiet place for a weekend still located in a very good spot check out Jamie’s place

Great Home in Portage Park

Nice, quiet, and comfortable stay
My wife and I stayed with our two dogs and felt very welcome. Our host took great care to welcome us at check in and walked us through the apartment. She also made certain to check back with us during our stay to be sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. Everything we needed was supplied to feel completely at home. We would definitely stay again when we visit the Chicago area.

Ahh Irving Park …
My now wife and I met in person for the first time like a mile from this place. We didn’t even realize it until we drove past it. And it only added to how special this place was. Awesome pictures of the city on the walls, the layout of the apartment is so cozy and inviting, from entrance to bed. And the host, everything you would want from someone sharing their home with you. Super personable and attentive. This place will always be at the top for when we go back as a group to the city.

Jamie let me get in a good bit early as my plane was early. She was super kind, incredibly friendly and accommodating and also totally not intrusive at all!! Really really fair price for what you get it’s 3 sleepable rooms nice lil kitchen with lots of stuff if you need it and Supper clean modern bathroom.. 2-3 friendly couples could share this space and really save a ton of money in Chicago and still be comfortable.

The neighborhood is great and the VRBO rental was clean and comfortable. Very neat vintage decor and a record player with records to play was right up our ally. I'd prefer a door code and written instructions to an in-person check in. It was slightly awkward. Otherwise no complaints at all!

Quiet Neighborhood, fantastic host.
Visited Chicago for a concert and sites. We were greeted by an amazing host. Everything we needed was available and if it wasn't she made sure we got it. A bunch of info about the area was provided and plenty of suggestions were made. The neighborhood is quiet with plenty to do nearby. Downtown isn't too far away. We utilized her friend for transportation. He made the rides fun and filled with conversation.

Enjoyed our stay in Chicago!
2 bedrooms with plenty of linens and comfortable beds, full kitchen, clean and well organized. Good shower. Quiet neighborhood near Irving Pk Rd. Inside to apt., has15 stairs up and is a challenge for seniors like us. But grateful for a safe and cozy space to stay.

Jamie personally welcomed us into her home and Chicago. Everything clean, stocked, and beds were so comfortable. Jamie checked in on us and Basement Jim was there to drive us to our destinations. Would definitely come back!

Beautiful place with a wonderful host, but not 3 bedrooms
We had a wonderful stay with Jamie as our host. She greeted us when we arrived, showed us around, and helped us settle in. We enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. My only note is that--though Jamie is clear in her pictures and description of the location--this is not a three-bedroom apartment. I believe sleeping 10 would be a stretch. I think 3-4 guests is comfortable. Beyond that, people would need to sleep on air mattresses or trundle bed. Costs for guests beyond two is $50 per person when paid via vrbo, plus there is required insurance or a $3000 refundable deposit. Things to take into consideration, though Jamie notes clearly (and with good reason), that cleaning up after extra people takes extra time. We did our best to follow the instructions for checkout, and hopefully we did OK! Again, we deeply appreciate Jamie's hospitality. It was second to none!

Property was almost off expressway. Which was nice after a six hour drive. Jamie kept in contact as to our eta. Greeted us at our car door. Showed us around and showed us rules and check out. Kept in touch for our needs. House is decorated classy and cute. It was nice to have all the comforts of home. Beds comfortable kitchen super functional bathroom A+. So all in all I’d say if you want a central location in Chicago this is the place.

NYE in Chicago
Jamie was a wonderful host! Accommodating, warm & friendly, she was always just a text or call away for all of our needs . Jaime’s place is clean, quaint and cozy and was the perfect “home away from home” for our adult family of 4, and fur baby. It was nice having the option of reserving a ride with Basement Jim, as he was friendly & welcoming too! If we ever visit Chicago again, we would love to stay at Jamie’s Place!!

Jamie is a very accommodating host who lives on the first floor. She regulates the heat so responds quickly to requests. Quiet and safe neighborhood between Irving and Montrose Aves. The steep /narrow winding 90* turn,14 step stairway up inside, has a solid handrail and good stair grips but for seniors was a struggle, Jamie helped carry some of our luggage up. Taking down garbage via front only is again bit difficult for us seniors. The two bedroom mattresses are very comfortable and extra blankets. Shower is great. Toilet seat slides to side. Sensor light for the step up to bathroom. Nice books for grandkids visiting. There is no washer/dryer/. Furniture is beautiful wood and coasters are provided for protection. Well organized and clean apt. Have your netflix etc account info with you. Victorian style with nice ambiance. Jamie is one of the best hosts we have experienced. Thnaks! M & J
