The transportation network is fine, with a public bus stop right in front of the hotel. However, the rooms on the basement floor are very poor. They are cold and damp. One of the rooms (No. 5) does not comply with living standards; it is just a small technical room converted into a living space. A pipeline runs across the room, emitting a strong odor of domestic gas, which is harmful to health. Additionally, there is continuous noise from the laundromats and boilers situated on the same floor.

This is not an Inn, it’s an apartment. There is no guest services, room was clean, bathroom was shared and nasty. People staying here do not keep the place locked so anyone off the street can come in. People were up yelling and screaming at all hours of the night, never staying here again.

Overall enjoyed my stay at the Chicago Avenue Inn. Property was clean, had no issues with the shared spaces. Access to bus stop right outside the front door but it’s not the greatest part of town so be aware of that at night.

Property was actually nice. Beds were comfortable. Key was initially difficult to find but we found it eventually. Convenient bus line into downtown right outside. Area is okay. Definitely dont stay out too late at night. There was street parking in front of the property.

Overall good experience i just ran into some unsavory people and felt pretty unsafe as a women with no man around. Though nothing horrible happened just got cat called and another person boarding here kept trying to take me and my friend out on a date. Though when i called the receptionist they answered in a timely matter and helped me with any questions I had. I overall had a great time and enjoyed the living courters.

Neighbourhood isn't safe at all. Cleanliness and service overall is pretty good. But you pretty much can't use public transport because of the neighbourhood. Especially at nights.

First the good part. It's very clean inside and newly remodeled. They come every day and clean up. There is a grocery store nearby and restaurants nearby. The buses are nearby. The bad part is the neighborhood. When I pulled up there was a person yelling at himself pulling his clothes off. Another person around the corner taking their clothes off. People all night screechy their tires and celebrating on the corner. While I was waiting to get into the building and I had my bike by me somebody rode up by my bike and I put it inside the gate and they said I kill people, punk ass beotch. Lots of actions! And for all the remodeling they did inside they didn't do anything to the backyard. It would be nice to put a fence up and be able to sit back there and smoke and not have to smoke on the front porch and have people accost you. They can make a nice little getaway back in the backyard but they have not done anything. And nobody takes care of the lot next door. That's where all the actions going on.

Absolutely terrible! If you want to be told you’re lying by the owner of the property, it’s a wonderful place to stay. The Expedia app did not clarify that there was a shared bathroom between 3 rooms. They also failed to clarify that there would be people screaming outside of our room. We went for a lovely trip and came back with 0 hours of sleep and a bad taste in our mouth. I would recommend you totally stay away from this property. It is awful. But the cleaning lady was nice

I am a single female, stayed at the property while travel nursing. Staff was very friendly and cleaned daily. Transparency about the stay: economy room is very small: no windows, no television, no ventilation (air ducts). Room was very stuffy. Two walls in the room did not meet the ceiling, large gaps in the drywall. Multiple bugs crawled in between the gaps. Surrounding area very unsafe, large amount of homelessness and drug use in the neighborhood. Again staff was very nice and accommodating, but I would not cook again for these reasons/ would not book economy room again.

The property was kept clean on the inside with the exception of the tub side rug. The rug needed to be replaced with a clean one at least every other day since it was a shared bathroom rental space. The management did not make any effort to keep the front of the building cleaned. The same trash that was out side on the sidewalk and grass when we arrived was still there 5 days later when we left.
