About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Coach House is a detached property in the grounds of the 16th century Old Rectory.

This charming, detached, former coach house dates back to the 14th century and has been sympathetically renovated, ensuring original features can still be enjoyed, including exposed beams, a stone fireplace and external barn doors.

The sociable living accommodation includes a spacious dining kitchen with french doors out to the terrace and garden, and leads up a couple of steps to the inviting sitting room with its cosy open fire. A small double bedroom is also located on the ground floor, along with a shower room and separate cloakroom/WC. Upstairs, a king-size bedroom and a pretty twin room have use of the family bathroom. Breath-taking views over meadows to distant fields below can be enjoyed from the house and gardens.

Outside, the terrace provides garden furniture for alfresco dining whilst enjoying views of the delightful, mature and generous surrounding gardens and fields. The adjoining field has a soothing pond, perfect for picnics or quiet contemplation. Within the gardens are various spots to sit and enjoy the planting and terraced trees, and a sculptured sphere adds to sense of grandeur; or escape to the fun shepherd's hut with a good book and a glass of wine.

It would be very easy to stay put within the grounds of this glorious Cotswold retreat, but further delights await nearby. A short drive away you will find the picturesque village of Guiting Power, which boasts a village shop, bakery and two village pubs. Just under 7 miles away is family friendly Bourton-on-the-Water (known as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds'); and charming Stow-on-the-Wold and cosmopolitan Cheltenham are less than 10 miles away.

Idyllic Retreat
The Coach House is set in the stunning grounds of the owners’ property, yet the owners are not at all intrusive. The views are beautiful and the property is well equipped and comfortable. The welcome hamper was also a lovely touch. The surrounding area is beautiful and the location of Hawling is not too far from bigger towns such as Cheltenham and Cirencester. We would definitely recommend this property if you are looking for an idyllic, countryside get away.

Wonderful Christmas Holiday
Had a lovely time hosting our English relatives for the Christmas Holiday. The kitchen was well stocked. We prepared all manner of dishes , main courses to desserts. Actually the pictures don’t do justice to how large and roomy the kitchen and main lounge was.We comfortably hosted Christmas dinner for 7. The location was ideal for us as our relatives from around the area could come and go and join us as they were able. The property is well appointed , beds are comfortable , and the countryside is quintessential Cotswolds. We would stay again definitely

Full of character with cosey homely feel
Gorgeous house. Very homely and cosey. The surroundings were very tranquil and the welcome hamper a lovely touch. The fresh ripe pears from the tree were an unexpected bonus. We had a wonderful weekend. Would highly recommend this property.
