As cute as this hotel was, I did not appreciate the lack of hot water every morning we were there. They promised a credit but it never showed. We chose this hotel as a splurge but would have been better off at a lower priced hotel that had hot water!

Beautiful, charming, friendly hotel in Charleston
The Vendue is a beautiful property, and the staff is amazing. It is also in a great location in the center of Historic Charleston. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The rooms (at the Enclave side of the hotel, where we stayed) have a very attractive decor and are spacious and well-equipped (although they do not have mini-fridges). However, our room did not consistently have hot water. Fortunately, we were moved to another room where the hot water did work. The service is unfailingly friendly and gracious, and they offer extra perks - champagne at check-in, a glass of wine in the late afternoon, cookies at night, and dishes of candy at the reception area. The Revival Restaurant at the hotel is excellent. The hotel doesn’t serve a full breakfast, but they do make coffee available (+ mimosas on Sunday) and they deliver a continental breakfast (fruit and pastries) to each room. We also enjoyed the artwork around the hotel, including a fascinating tour explaining the artwork displayed in the main part of the hotel. As long as they get the hot water problem fixed, I highly recommend the Vendue for visitors to Charleston.

We enjoyed our stay very much at the Enclave across the street and a sister facility to the Vendue. We liked the small “inn-like” atmosphere very much. The delivered continental breakfast was a treat, the macarons were fabulous and the staff was amazing.

Our stay was amazing. Jessica and Sarah were who we dealt with mostly and they were both amazing. We were down in Charleston for my wife's PhD dissertation defense and both Sarah and Jessica made the stay at least stressful as possible. We look forward to returning to the Vendue Inn soon.
