The Space: Truly a Quiet Private Retreat
While Charleston is undeniably beautiful, it is still a busy city. Our peaceful and serene house offers three key features for a quiet stay:

1. Location: Tucked back from the street, our house ensures a quiet
atmosphere without the noise of passing cars, unlike most other properties which are street front. Walk to King St or any of the surrounding coffee shops, bars and hidden gem restaurants in the neighborhood.

2. Exclusive Privacy: Many guest accommodations in Charleston are large houses split into condos, but The Retreat is a standalone house exclusively for you. Say goodbye to shared walls or neighboring parties, and enjoy uninterrupted privacy. Wifi extenders for our high speed wifi provide coverage even in the backyard!

3. Private Fenced Backyard: Unwind with your loved ones in our secluded, fenced backyard. There’s not many similar back yards in the area, providing a unique space where you can relax with your family and friends. The outdoor grill is no longer for guest use.

The House
Recently renovated, our modern house is perfect for groups of 2-4 guests, featuring 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath.

The open floor plan makes it ideal for spending quality time together.
The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots, pans & utensils you’ll need.

Publix Supermarket is just 1 mile away and multiple convenience stores in walking distance. Dine indoors or outdoors on the patio.

The bedrooms are dark & cool, designed for a restful sleep, with very comfortable beds that have received many compliments from our guests.
Love your travel companions, but want some alone time? With different zones such as the front porch, the back yard, the living areas, and the bedrooms, you can find your own personal space.


The Front Porch
The front porch gets the morning sunlight, it’s the perfect spot to start your day as you sip your morning coffee while listening to the birds

Once settled in, you'll find that you won’t need your car unless you plan to go to the beach, which is just a 20-minute drive away.
We provide one off-street parking spot. Due to the secluded location of the house, oversized vehicles (e.g. a Ford Expedition) will find the driveway tight and should park on the street.

There is light construction happening next door, but workers abide by strict hours to no disturb the neighborhood. They are not allowed to operate outside of 7am to 7pm on weekdays, and 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Absolutely no work on Sundays or Holidays.

This 2-acre private membership club nestled in downtown Charleston is a modern oasis
offering resort-style amenities and a Bali-Tulum-inspired atmosphere unparalleled on the
peninsula. The property includes a swimming pool, onsite eateries for breakfast, lunch,
dinner, trendy cocktails, and of course poolside cabanas! It also includes an indoor gym and
fitness studio with daily classes, a recovery room full of spa therapies, private

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We had a 1 night stay, but there were plenty of amenities. The house is clean and well maintained. The area was quiet. It was a short walk to Charlies General store as well as Holey City Bagels.

Best girls weekend!
I would recommended this place over and over again! Hoping to come back next summer and stay. 4 block walking distance from King St. The place was so clean, beds were comfortable, and patio was perfect! We were able to easily Uber to beaches and other parts of Charleston. Shared driveway so if u were to have a rental car be aware it’s a tight squeeze. This place is exactly as is in all pictures!

Great Location
We loved our stay here! Everything was clean and all instructions given were exact and precise. We were far enough away from the hustle and bustle and noise of downtown so our stay at this location was enjoyable. Downtown Charleston was a 5 min car ride away! The owner of the property even left a voucher for each of us to get a free cupcake from the Sweet Shop across the street. If we come to Charleston again, we will definitely stay at this location!

We enjoyed our stay in our little house. The location was wonderful and it was Nextdoor to a fantastic restaurant. Coffee shop and bagel shop were a short walk away. The beds were very comfortable.

For the amount of money spent on a 4 pm to noon booking, we expected a more. We have stayed at vrbo's for the last 13 yrs. This is our first bad experience. We couldn't use the backyard due to all the palm tree seeds that were all over the ground, table, and chairs. The coffee carafe was dirty...left over water/coffee left in the bottom. The fan in the bathroom barely worked...so stuffed with dust. The smoke alarm in the bedroom was removed. The house wasn't cleaned properly. The conceirge apologized. We did get some money back, but not enough considering how much we paid. Hopefully they have communicated with the cleaning staff and this won't happen again. Good location.

Secluded privacy close to King
We really enjoyed this private and very well appointed 2 bedroom house tucked back off the street. Easy walking distance to the shops, sights, sounds and smells of King St….but minus the noise. Landlord is very responsive, polite and service minded. Cool little wine bar 1 block away and a fabulous bagel shop on the corner….both maybe 2 minutes walk from the property.

Overall Great and Sparkling Clean
Sparkling clean and well stocked. Loved the location and the StayDuvet team was response. Only have a few suggestions to make it even better. It would be nice to have a small dustpan and broom to clean up the berries outside and the clear crumbs in the house. Also the AC worked well but the house was very humid. Not sure if there is a good way to improve the humidity indoors. I know its SC but the AC made the sheets damp.

Stay Here! Won’t be disappointed
I sighed relief walking in because it was just like the pictures. The front covered porch would be great for morning coffee if you’re into that. The eat in table was great for visiting. The backyard set up was so nice especially with the lights and hammock. We enjoyed that the last night. Location was close to everything but a very quiet street which was perfect. We never heard our neighbors. And the bed! You just sink into it. Would stay again.

In town for C of C Graduation
Property was perfect for our family’s stay during the C of C graduation. It was located close to our daughter’s apartment and close to local restaurants. Neighbors were polite and quiet even during all the graduation festivities. The house is well appointed and very comfortable and the back yard is great - perfect place to stretch out and relax. Definitely recommend!

Great space and convenient
This property was really wonderful aside from a few maintenance things. The shower doesn’t have a door, just a glass siding, which doesn’t keep water in the shower well at all—making the whole bathroom very very wet which wasn’t great for our kiddos. Also the couch had some serious stains but other then that we fully enjoyed the space and liked the location! We would stay again with friends but probably not with our two young kids.
