**New as of January 2024** We now offer FREE electric car charging (Tesla Universal Charger) and a newly remodeled kitchen with a large farmhouse sink, dishwasher, and full-size appliances with service ware for 20+ guests.

Experience the allure of California's magical Sonoma Coast at our enchanting retreat. Revel in 5 unique boutique studio units, each boasting panoramic ocean views and the rhythmic melody of crashing waves.

Nestled on a 30-acre property, discover a haven where redwood forests meet a private creek, along with indulgent amenities including gas firepits, saunas, jacuzzi tubs, and a heartwarming mini-farm featuring goats, pigs, chickens, and playful kittens. Arrange a visit to meet and pet the animals, adding an extra touch of delight to your stay.

Relish the mid-century modern living room – a hub of comfort and entertainment complete with a drink/coffee bar, dining area, a dry sauna, gas heater, wood-burning fireplace, and a 60" TV complemented by a soundbar. Bask in the splendor of the sunset and embrace the tranquility of the lodge.

Our well-equipped kitchen, offering additional ocean views, boasts an oven, range, microwave, and a full-size refrigerator, while an outdoor gas grill invites al fresco culinary adventures. We provide kitchenware for 16 guests.

As night falls, gather around the gas firepit or wood-burning s'more pit, savoring the symphony of crashing waves and starlit skies, offering unparalleled stargazing due to minimal light pollution.

The lodge, ensconced within a 30-acre redwood forest, invites exploration with private trails leading to a seasonal creek. Meander through the 1.5-acre backyard meadow, where Adirondack chairs and a charming macramé hammock await your relaxation. This unparalleled estate on the Sonoma Coast ensures a one-of-a-kind experience.

Accommodating 5 bedrooms, each with a private entrance and full bathroom, revel in the stunning ocean views, kitchenettes, gas heaters, and classic Santa Rosa Malm fireplaces. Three rooms feature classic jetted Jacuzzi tubs and private dry saunas for added indulgence. Wake up to the melody of the ocean, seals barking in the distance, and the chance to spot passing whales and dolphins as you sip your morning coffee on the private porch.

All units are equipped with new beds, fresh linens, strong Wi-Fi, and TVs with DVD players.

Further details about each room:

Each of the 5 rooms provides ocean views, a gas heater, a Malm wood fireplace, a king bed, a kitchenette with a microwave and mini-fridge, and bathrooms with hairdryers. All rooms allow space for extra cribs, cots, or air mattresses.

Rooms #1-4 offer private patios with seating, while rooms #1, 3, and 4 boast jetted Jacuzzi tubs and private saunas.

Unit #1 (500 sq ft): Ground floor accessibility, the largest room with a full bathroom featuring a tub/shower, Jacuzzi, and sauna.

Unit #2 (360 sq ft): Ground floor accessibility, full bathroom with tub/shower.

Unit #3 (440 sq ft): Second level, full bathroom with a shower, Jacuzzi, and sauna.

Unit #4 (440 sq ft): Second level, full bathroom with tub/shower, a skylight over the jetted Jacuzzi, and a sauna.

Unit #5 (260 sq ft): Most private room with a King bed, a full bathroom with a shower, and one small step into the unit.

Regarding the Sonoma Coast location, our semi-remote setting adjacent to a Redwood forest occasionally invites visits from diverse wildlife, which we believe adds to the charm and authenticity of the experience without compromising safety or health.

You will have full use of all 5 units, all shared spaces, and 10 parking spots at the top of the hill. One stairway/loft in the house is currently off-limits.

The meadow and woods around the house are fully available for your use. We encourage you take the redwood trail hike to the creek (10-15 mins) and we provide maps in the guest book.

The farm animals (goats, chickens, pigs) are accessible for visiting during daylight hours. Petting the animals is subject to availability of the grounds manager and can be discussed during your visit.

*NEW* - Guests are now able to use the California Parks Poppy Pass to access Fort Ross Historic Center, Salt Point, and Sonoma Headlands at no charge!

The owners will be available by phone/text throughout your stay. Our on-site grounds manager lives in a mobile home next to the farm, about 200 yards from the lodge, and can be available for emergencies.

On 30 private acres you don't have many neighbors! The Fort Ross Store (general store, food, coffee, deli, and wine/alcohol) is at the bottom of the hill, 100 yards away (1 min walk). The Fort Ross Lodge is directly across Highway 1. Timber Cove Resort is 2 minutes away by car, and Stillwater Cove is 5 minutes by car.

On property you only need your feet! It's a 3-minute walk to the Fort Ross Store (basic food items, wine, coffee, deli). It's a 15-minute walk to Windermere Point on the cliffs. From there, a steep trail leads to Kolmer Gulch with a private beach. Everything else requires a car on Highway 1.

There are 5 outdoor security cameras on the property. All cameras are actively recording 24/7 both visually and audibly but are not monitored and are there for safety reasons. Three are directed towards the front of the house (front yard, driveway north, and driveway south), one on the south side of the house, and one facing the backyard / meadow.

Each room has 1 king bed and we have camping-style cots and pack ‘n plays available for additional occupants.

The hot tub and sauna are provided for your enjoyment, but come with assumed risks. You are responsible for supervising any children under the age of 14, no eating or drinking in the hot tub or saunas, and agree to use at your own risk. Do not use if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, pregnant, or hypertensive.

We provide 2 full propane tanks to be used with gas grill and outdoor heater. If you anticipate needing more, additional propane may need to be brought up or you can refill the tanks in Gualala or Sea Ranch Supply.

You're in the woods! Expect some tiny visitors like spiders and beetles, and the occasional mouse. They won't hurt you and we take every precaution to keep the house safe and clean. If you encounter wildlife indoors - please let us know so we can help remove them safely.

Driftwood Lodge: A Dream Getaway
This property offered the perfect blend of luxury, tranquility, and breathtaking natural beauty. Panoramic Views: The panoramic views were absolutely stunning. From the lodge’s elevated vantage point, we enjoyed sweeping vistas of the ocean and surrounding forest. Sunrise and sunset were particularly magical, painting the skies with vivid colors that seemed to stretch endlessly over the horizon. Every window framed a scene worthy of a postcard, making it difficult to leave the comfort of the lodge. Short Trail to the Creek: One of the highlights was the short trail leading down to a peaceful creek. The walk was easy and well-maintained, winding through lush forest and offering a chance to immerse ourselves in nature. The sound of the bubbling water combined with the serene atmosphere made it an ideal spot for reflection or just enjoying a quiet moment. Accommodations and Amenities: The layout of the lodge was perfect for a group or family retreat. The separate bedroom offered privacy and a cozy escape, while three of the other bedrooms featured dry saunas and private hot tubs, which added a luxurious touch. Relaxing in a hot tub after a day of exploring was pure bliss. The outdoor amenities were equally impressive. The wood-burning fireplace inside the lodge created a warm and inviting ambiance in the evenings, while the outdoor jacuzzi provided an incredible spot to soak under the stars. The fire pit was a favorite gathering place. Would highly recommend.

Stunning spot, perfect for a getaway with family and friends!
My new spouse and I brought a couple of our closest friends and family here for a post wedding weekend. Driftwood had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway, and more! We loved being able to see the animals, each room was exactly as described, and better! The location was perfect for quick day-trips, or for just sitting around the fire pit. The lodge is perfect for those looking to find a great spot for communal get-togethers, but but also enough individual rooms for everyone to have their own space. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Perfect for that getaway weekend
We visited with 6 adults and 4 young kids - three families. And it was lovely - the house is exactly as described, and is clean, lovely, and comfortable. It's easy to reach (from Hwy 1), and is remote enough that you can really enjoy yourself, and the kids loved running around the property, playing with whatever they could find, going on walks and visiting the beach. Meanwhile the house itself is wonderful, very comfortable and the adults were able to relax as well. I would also note that the Lodge has stunning sunsets, and the view from each room is lovely to wake up to. We're planning on returning, and will stay longer next time.

Fantastic getaway weekend
What a gem! This property was absolutely fantastic for our group of 10 adults (5 couples). We appreciated having separate sleeping spaces for everyone but a common house to hang out in. The house was super well stocked so we had everything we needed. (We especially appreciated the warm fleece blankets and real wood-burning fireplaces — kept us cozy!) The outdoor space is exceptional, as well! The ocean and trees made the whole place super relaxing (and gorgeous). We spent a lot of time in the hot tub, and pretty much lamented when we had to go off property for a meal or another activity. The restaurant at the Timber Cove Resort (3m away) was great for dinner. Highly recommended! You will not be disappointed if you book the Driftwood Lodge! We will certainly be coming back!
