The shared area between cabins was fun for my kids & the lake was beautiful. The area seemed safe and parking was not an issue, plus there was easy access to the many Mackinac activities.
We arrived to discover there were no sheets on beds and no towels. The listing says “towels provided” and does not mention bringing your own sheets. We called the owner who responded promptly, but stated only one hand towel was provided, and we could get sheets and bath towels for an added fee. Despite my explaining this was not what the listing stated, he made it clear I had very little choice. It was late, the nearest open store was a long drive.
The cabin was dirty, cobwebs in corners, filthy windows, a piece of dried out disgusting bread between the cabinet and the wall. We also discovered the “cleaning protocol” on checkout included scrubbing the shower, toilet, fridge, counters and vacuuming. Perhaps this is the only cleaning the cabin receives between guests….
Also, there were 5 kayaks to use, but only 4 paddles and 2 paddle boats, but both broken.
All in all one of the worst places we’ve stayed.
