Location
Tycanol Lodge is situated on the outskirts of the village of Llanarthne in an elevated position overlooking Dryslwyn Castle. 7 miles from the M4, 5 miles to the histoic and picturesque town of Llandeilo, 11 miles from Carmarthen and within an hour’s drive to Cardiff, and the surrounding coastline.
Accommodation
Tycanol lodge underwent extensive rebuild in 2010, a full renovation and the addition of a luxury private hot tub for the 2021 season. It has been designed to provide first class living accommodation, it is light and airy throughout, and tastefully renovated with high quality fixtures and fittings.
The property comprises of:
A spacious open plan living area with comfortable sofa, LCD television and DVD player. dinning area, kitchen area with electric oven and hob, washing machine, microwave and fridge with ice box.
Bedroom one, with a double bed. Bedroom two, with four single beds. Bathroom, bath with mixer shower, wash basin, and wc.
The accommodation has heating throughout, (no extra charge) bed linen and towels are included in the hire fee. Cot and highchair are available on request.
Outside:
Ample off road parking. A large decking area with luxury hot tub, seating area and BBQ. Extensive enclosed lawns. A lockable storage facility is available for fishing equipment and bikes.
Where to go
The Towy Valley is rich not just in natural beauty, but also in attractions and history; the area is famous for many medieval castles three are located close by - Dryslwyn Castle, Dinefwr Castle, also home to a medieval deer park and Carreg Cennen Castle. The ruins of Dryslwyn Castle are within walking distance of the Lodge. The short walk up the castle’s mound is rewarded with majestic, panoramic views
over the Towy Valley, Paxtons Tower is also a local tourist hot spot within easy reach, a folly built in the 1800’s which overlooks the village of Llanarthne, and
the Towy Valley. It is maintained by the National Trust and the surrounding hill top is grazed by a local flock. Although Tycanol Lodge is situated in a quiet scenic
location, the Lodge is conveniently located for the premier tourist attractions in West Wales. The National Botanical Gardens, the most visited garden in Wales,
and Aberglasney House and Gardens, the garden lost in time, are both 4 miles away. The Breacon Beacons National Park, which stretches from Llandeilo in the west. Ffos Las racecourse, Dolau Cothi Gold Mines, Heatherton Country Park, Oakwood Theme
Park, Folly Farm and Manor House Wildlife Park. For those whom prefer to relax and enjoy the beautiful costal attractions, then the area has some of the most beautiful beaches on offer, including three cliffs bay on the Gower peninsula, Cefn Sidan beach which is renowned as one of Wales’s cleanest beaches, Llanstefan and Pendine with its Museum of Speed.
