I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I'd made the reservation in a hurry, around 3:00 AM, while driving from Vermont to North Carolina because of a death in the family. I'd not had time to research the hotel, and had assumed the room's low price indicated a subpar facility. I could not have been more wrong. A very clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. I was impressed. (One more thing: while the hotel itself is very nice, its location -- next to an interstate -- might not please everyone with a room on that side of the building. Still, I definitely recommend this hotel.)

The staff was friendly and the room had been updated, however, it was in need of repairs that the front desk staff was not aware of. We arrived late and exhausted. When we entered the room, we seen a hook hanging off the bathroom drawer, dangling by the screw that had been pulled out. The grab bar in the shower looked like it had slid and there was crud (looked like possible mold) around it. I took pictures and went back to front desk and showed her and she offered to move us to a different room. I asked if there was another room with the handheld shower wand as I booked an accessible room solely so I could use the handheld shower wand to wash my hair the next morning. The guy there with her said the other accessible room only had a stationary shower head and the room we were in was the only one with the handheld shower wand option so we stayed put. The next morning, the faucet for the handheld shower wand came off in my hand! We discovered it wasn't even hooked up to water! There was some wall damage in various places but that didn't bother me. The room was clean (other than around that grab bar in the shower). The beds were not comfy, though, and felt worn out, thin, and lumpy.

Only thing that was an inconvenience is the fact the pillows on the bed are small squares. There are no normal regular size pillows on the beds which made a rough sleep.

I can put up with a dirty room with dust, hair, flaking paint, etc. But unless you are profoundly deaf, look elsewhere. The property’s proximity to the highway gives a level of room noise that in decades of travel is unmatched! All night long! Terrible!

Not Good For A Light Sleeper
Very Nice Place other than a few issues.1-You could hear way too much road noise from the room. Didn't sleep well at all.2-Some gym equipment needed repair.3- Very low flow showers.
