There's no better retreat than a cozy stay at the Oregon Coast, and this oceanfront house is perfect. Boasting sweeping ocean views from every room, and a flight of stairs leading directly to the beach, it’s a perfect opportunity to clear out a cluttered mind. It is a place families and friends have created lasting memories since Windwhistle has been in the family for over 60 years.

An open beach lies between the bookends of Tillamook Head and Hug Point and stretches for miles. Relax on an extra-large southern-facing deck for private sunbathing, playing games, or having breakfast in the sun. Play bocce ball on the beach or on the front or back lawn. Have evening bonfires on the beach right in front of the house. Bodysurf and jump the waves.

Close enough to walk to Cannon Beach (about 1 ½ miles) to enjoy all the amenities (live theater, fully stocked grocery stores, a great fresh seafood store, gourmet restaurants, lots of coffee shops) and yet far enough away to enjoy the peace off the touristy beaten path. It is at the end of a dead-end lane with a forested lot behind the back yard.

Gather near the wood-burning fireplace in the main living room to play games, read a novel, or look out the window at the rolling surf. You might pick a movie from the VHS collection or put your favorite DVD on the flatscreen cable TV to wait out the rain or surf the free WiFi. The kitchen comes fully equipped with cooking and baking staples including an extensive herb and spice drawer. The antique harvest table and bar stools provide plenty of seating for everyone. A gas grill (not avaialable for use in the winter) on the deck is perfect for cooking up that fresh fish you catch. You can take care of any laundry using the private washer/dryer. Located on the first floor, the private master suite boasts an old fashioned soaking tub - perfect for relaxing after a long day of frolicking on the beach.

Perfect for a family group
This was a very smooth rental process and one of the best equipped homes/kitchens I have ever stayed at. The location was absolutely perfect and most importantly was exactly how it was described. For me and my group the property was the perfect mix of a low key family home (perfect but also not too precious) with all the amenities of a commercial let. I would be happy to recommend to a family group as there is not too much privacy but ok for good friends as well.

Wonderful Visit!
Loved our stay at the Windwhistle property. Quiet neighborhood with enough room for both our vehicles. Everything was so clean, well equipped with quality items from bedding, towels, to everything in the kitchen. The property management’s initial communication was early and made our arrival seamless. The side desk was a great place to hang out, and the view and access to the beach were amazing! A terrific place to stay!

Windwhistle is a beautiful place to stay
The property is fantastic. The location is great for beach access and close to town. We really missed using the fireplace, as it was out of service for a safety concern, but we had great fires on the beach. We enjoyed it and would definitely stay there again.

We did not have the opportunity to stay on this property. The HOA changed rules and we had to change our location. We ended up with a fine spot, but missed out on this one, regretfully. I'm confused seeing this add remaining and haunting me for a review.

Great view and beach access
This is a house with obvious longtime family history. It is a gift to share this history and enjoy this precious quiet spot that obviously hold many precious family memories. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the deck is great. Beach access is a few steps away.

Beautiful
This was one of the best spots I’ve ever rented. I’ve stayed all along the Oregon coast and this trumps all of them for me and my family. The beach is amazing, especially with it being Covid right now, being away from haystack rock is a must seeing at how populated it is at all times. The house easily accommodated all 8 of us and was rustic with great personality. Only gripe we really had were with the beds upstairs. Very bad for the back sadly but truly not much time was spent sleeping so it was fine. Thank you for letting us enjoy this little slice of paradise.

Beautiful house, great location. The larger yard, immediate access to the beach was great during COVID. We were able to host other families for dinner, get togethers while still social distancing. House is well stocked and clean - even left us fresh flowers which was a nice touch. Looking forward to going back again.

A great beach location for unwinding
This is a good house for a couple or a family with young or short children. Pictures on the first floor were accurate. Upstairs is a bit tight. The direct beach access from the property is quite a plus. It was quite pleasant sitting in the MBR drinking morning coffee, watching the waves or sitting at the bay window table for a romantic dinner for two. One of the best seats in Cannon Beach for dinner. Older house with knotty pine walls but doesn’t pretend to be different than that. Family has kept up the kitchen. Deck smartly faces South to block the wind. I appreciated how the family owners provided access to the basement carport for umbrella, chairs and sand toys and an American flag to raise on the flagpole. You can also feel that there have been many important family events that have been lived in this house. Living room furniture could benefit from an upgrade.

Great Home on the Beach!
Loved the home and location! We had five adults and it was perfect for our needs. You can’t beat the views from the main room, the deck or the back yard. Only setback was the dishwasher wasn’t working. Lots of hand washing dishes.

We will be back
Like many families, our adult children are spread over these great United States. We all decided that the Oregon coast it's where we wanted our next Family Vacation. This house was an excellent choice for my family. Being able to watch the beach from the living room was an important characteristic for us. Walking out onto the beach with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine was exactly what we needed reconnect.

Perfect Family Vacation Home!
Our kids and grandkids voted this house the best one yet for Cannon Beach! We’ve been coming here for many years, so that’s saying something. It’s comfortable and clean; modern enough so we could avoid housework but still be comfortable; private and yet right on the beach. We all want to come back.

Oceanfront Happiness at Cannon Beach
Our family of four had a fantastic time here. The beach is just a staircase away and the house has a great view of the ocean. There were plenty of board games to pick from and a cozy wood burning fireplace (rainy spring break!). Yes an older home, but added to the charm - clean and seemed well-maintained. Well stocked and labeled (thank you!) kitchen. Nice to be really near town but not in the middle of it. Again, hard to beat the beach access.

Amazing view and fire
When we arrived the furnace wasn't working and the house was at 49 deg. Someone was sent out right away and fixed the problem within 5 hours however that first night was pretty chilly. The wood burning gas fireplace was a highlight to read around and plenty of firewood was provided. The kitchen is very well stocked. The kids enjoyed the games but there were no VHS tapes that we could find however the WIFI was good enough to stream Netflix through our phone onto the TV. The view couldn't be beat. A great stay all around!

Excellent Location, Quiet/Relaxing, Well-Supplied Home
We spent 3 nights at Windwhistle. The location is amazing as the beach is just down a set of steps and a beautiful walk to Haystack Rock. Most of the crowds of people are well down the beach so it is like having a private beach. The one bedroom and bath downstairs was perfect for grandma and grandpa and everybody else slept in the 2 double beds and 3 twins upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped for anything we wanted to cook. BBQ outside and side deck was great for outdoor dining. So relaxing and quiet without a TV in the front (ocean-facing) family room! Loved the split doors on the front and back of the house--so nice for having an ocean breeze through the house. Everybody in our family loved this home away from home. We will be back! Thanks for making this lovely place available!
