The staff and service was excellent, not one complaint about that. The resort is outdated, the food choice was very limited, but at least the taste was good. The biggest issue we had was the resort was under construction, which was not disclosed to us ahead of time or at check in, therefore there was a lot of noise and workers everywhere. We asked at the front desk about this and they apologized but said this is their "slow season" and they are doing the work now, but we did not pay a cheap price, quiet the opposite actually so that is very unfair to us.

The beach access is the only good thing about this hotel. The rooms are very outdated and food is below average. I feel like we were almost obligated to go to a mis club meeting which would take 90 minutes. When we declined, they kept insisting and making us feel bad for not wanting to go. I would only return for the location of the hotel.

First at check the staff tried to switch the type of room we purchased and gave us a lower grade room. When I showed them my confirmation on type of room they said it would not be available because someone else was in it. They said I could spend two night in a regular room and after two nights we could move to the room we requested and paid for. Only wanted to give us $30 (US dollars) credit for the two nights in regular room (yet on Expedia the difference was $100.00 a night. I feel they intentionally took our money for upgraded room then stuck us in lower grade room with only apologies to compensate. On top of that the property was under construction. There was barely a bar that the whole property was having to use. If you were at the beach they had to turn up the music so loud so you wouldn’t hear all the jackhammers all day and even into some of the evenings until 9 or 10pm. The TWO restaurants could not accommodate our party of 10 until 8:30 at night so by the time we were able to sit down and eat there we were informed of all the food that they were already out of. so we ate downtown a few times! The internet and phones in all villas did not work. Door locks/keys did not work. The dock looks like it’s been destroyed for a long time. This property really needs major updates and the staff needs to not try to screw over their customers. A little communication from the property could have prevented a lot of headache. Red and yellow caution tape everywhere!

The staff was excellent! Kevin, Israel, Elsie and Roberto provided impeccable service throughout our stay. The lower rating on the condition of the property was due to still needing to clean up from recent hurricanes but it really did not impact our stay.

Arrived and the room was not ready. We arrived hours after our check in time after a long day of travel so this was disappointing. The manager was very rude about the situation. The hotel had a lot of construction going on and the pool bar is closed. The rooms were clean but old. There is a constant sewage smell from the washrooms so we left the fans on and doors closed. The service at the hotel was okay. Very slow. Many people would just attend the bar themselves for a drink. The beach at the property is amazing.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The location is why we chose Mia and it did not disappoint! The beach is amazing! The pool is small and cold, plus the swim up bar and main bar for the entire resort was closed for renovations which was a little disappointing but they had a temporary bar set up. The room was clean and as expected, simple and a bit small but the oceanfront view was incredible. The food was similar to the last 2 all inclusive resorts we’ve been to… it’s just ok. Buffet is small and gets a little repetitive. They do have some good seafood options, the taco shack on the beach and the grilled to order shrimp on the buffet were all very good. Being so close to town it was an easy walk to go out to eat elsewhere when we wanted. We stayed here for the setting and it was worth it.

The staff service is perfect. Everyone tries their best to make your stay a pleasant. The hotel has the best location in the island, the only complaint is the rooms, they need a complete renovation for the price.

The staff at MIA Reef is top notch. They are friendly and welcoming and ready to help in any way. The food was very good and the beach is amazing!! The rooms are slightly outdated but we rarely are in the room anyway. When we checked in however, there was confusion with my 16 year old. Orbitz lists children as 17 and younger, Mia considers children 12 and younger. They wanted me to pay $200 more upon check in for him. I disputed and they were very accommodating. The bar area at the pool was under construction therefore there was no pool bar or lobby type bar for evenings. We were unaware of this until we were already there. I assume there was some damage during the hurricane and the beach area had erosion and broken steps and dock. It looks like they are to begin working on this and would make a huge difference. If all these things were complete prior to our stay, I would definitely give the resort 5 stars, however without experiencing all the amenities I can’t rate them.

Beautiful beach area, perfect for snorkeling to see sting rays and numerous fish, kayaking, swimming, and just wading in the calm waters. Great room views and clean. Food was good, enough options. Drinks were great, served on the beach.

This was our second time at Mia Reef. Overall, our stay was good but the resort does need some major maintenance - wear and tear are very noticeable throughout. For example - shakey faucet, low water pressure, scratches on some furniture. The beaches are unbeatable on the island however! They never disappoint.

Resort was amazing & so were the staff! I hated that I didn’t receive the villa we booked & paid extra for. No one told me I wasn’t receiving my room until the second they gave me my room key (I was there 5hrs before waiting my room) & wasn’t told a thing! Then they gave me credit but wasn’t even close to the extra that I paid for the villa! Resort told me that it was Expedia's fault for not telling me. I hate that nothing was said until the last moment & I had to take the room they gave us which was a downgrade instead of the honeymoon suite which is what I asked for because it was close in cost to what I paid for the villa.
