Great private getaway
It was just a small getaway from home for the kids, but it ended but being a great getaway for the adults and kids! We enjoyed house and all the amenities it has to offer. The private road to the river is a great great plus! Rooms and spacing of the house was perfect for all of us. We had about 12 people including the kids. The rear deck patio with the grill was also a great plus. Will definitely be coming back to this retreat! Lazy K retreat for the win!

A great time!
We had so much fun on our own little private section of River! We were 10 people (4 adults, one 19 year old, and 5 kids ages 6 through 12) and there was plenty of space. The house was very clean with lots of storage space and everything you could possibly need. It was the perfect quiet little get away!

Great and fun eclipse experience
While the clouds didn’t cooperate for the eclipse itself, a clear dark sky night, cool river, kayaks, Polaris ranger and sitting around the fire pit provided for a great time for our friend group for our short two night stat. The house was large, well appointed (example regular and Keurig coffee maker provided), and clean. We woild not hesitate to stay again should we venture back deep into Texas Hill Country.

Relaxing trip
We loved our trip to Lazy K! It was beautiful scenery. The river was super relaxing and you can see straight to the bottom. The house was definitely home away from home. It was clean, comfy, and omg the little details at the retreat were spot on. We loved the deck and fire pit! Rent the side by side you won’t be sorry. We had a blast on that thing! My dad didn’t want to leave if that’s an inkling into how much we enjoyed ourselves!

Gorgeous Cozy Cabin with Lots to Explore!
This place is amazing! We arrived to a spotless house that was not only clean but also well laid out. Everything was easy to find and the owners definitely thought of everything that we would need during our stay. There were plenty of places to eat, hang out with family, explore, and curl up with a good book. My kids enjoyed the tree swing while my favorite was a tie between the back porch lounging couch and chairs and the fire pit area that even had a TV. My 12 year old liked fishing the best as did my 14 year old. Both kids caught several fish and has a blast kayaking down the river. I was amazed how I didn't see one other person while we were down at the river. We were able to really enjoy the birds and wildlife as a result. The rock bars were really a neat area to look for fossils. We went during the late fall where temps dipped in the upper 30's at night and daytime ran between 50's and 60's. Despite the cold temps, it didn't put a hamper at all on our time at the cabin and river. There was still plenty to do between hanging outside on the deck to going down to the river to explore the rocky islands and go fishing. The owners did a great job of communicating with us and making sure we had everything we needed. This was a Great Getaway for entire family and well worth the drive. I would highly recomend!

2 days just wasn't enough to enjoy all the Lazy K has to offer. From swimming the cool clear waters, kayaking and fishing the Nueces to enjoying the beautiful deck with a glass of wine along side helping the kids make s'mores. Gosh so much fun! The home is complete with all the amenities you will need and is spacious with room for everyone! We will definitely be back! Thank you Lazy K Retreat!

Perfect Spot on the Nueces
We are a family of 6. My wife and I and our 4 kids (ages 13, 11, 9, and 6) Location: Their private landing spot on the Nueces is perfect. It's right at a small rapid where the kids had a lot of fun swimming downstream. We bought a couple of tubes and floated down it a lot. There are some spots that are ankle deep, which would be perfect for very small kids, but also some spots that were around 5 feet deep, good for swimming, and also just standing in to cool off. The center part of the river is a bed of rocks, so it was easy to get out and walk back with the tubes and float down again. We kayaked upstream one day for a while and had a great time. The home is very comfortable. Everything felt luxurious and nice. The beds, the towels, the rugs, the bathroom floor mats. It was great. They had several big TVs and streaming services included, which we enjoyed in between trips down to the river. The AC was able to keep the house cool even though it was reaching 108 degrees in the hottest parts of the day. The kitchen has nice appliances. We cooked every day and it was great. Soft couches and chairs, nice dining room, nice outside patio area for relaxing. We thought we might make a day trip to the Frio since we were there for 4 days, but we enjoyed this property so much we didn't want to leave. FYI: my wife and I have Verizon and our phones didn't have service at all unless we were connected to their WiFi. My daughter has Mint Mobile (T-Mobile's towers) and it had good service.

The Perfect Getaway!!
The river access was amazing and lots of it. We found the perfect spot for our toddlers and it had a jumping rock for the teenagers and flat area for us adults to lounge with our feet in the water under our canopies and just watch them play!! They have Kayaks for your use and we used them to transport our ice chest and canopies and all the kids to where we wanted to go. Beautiful spot!! Crystal clear water. Just what we wanted. The House is amazing as well!! U can tell its older with the old heaters in the bathrooms (antique and don't work but beautiful) But all new floors and the cleanest rent house I have ever been in. Two living rooms and the mantle in the back living room is gorgeous!! The deck is amazing outside under oak and pecan trees!! Then the perfect fire pit for smores! Made right and open to allow multiple kids to have marshmellows roasting at one time!! Rustic brand new feeling. Nice!! Oh and host was very nice and communicative with us. We had a few questions on river access and he got back to us with in minutes. Enjoy ya'll!!
